  1. I saw the box of dark rituals. So please tell me is the game worth it? The gameplay is soo good but the components not that good.

  2. My suggestion is to avoid to became like Rahdo. Don't get me wrong, I like his video and one of the best game that I have in my collection, shadowrun crossfire, I took because of him. The issue is that most of the game that he review are amazing and looks like you have to add them in your collection. If your goal is to help people to make a choices you need to be more "selective" in the suggestion. Then you can back 10 games a months but you need maybe, again take as a tips, recommend 2-3 out of that 10 games. I was doing something similar when I was reviewing videogames…

  3. I don't know if I like the theory of having a Marvel United video of why you should NOT have backed it the week AFTER the KS closes. Especially since during the KS you mentioned frequently that you were all-in. If you're going to be negative, maybe do it while people are still in decision mode, not a week after that decision has been locked.

  4. Hey Alex! Great show as almost always! 😉 I gotta say, keeping up with new games is like trying to drink out of a wide open fire hydrant! There's just too many appealing titles to swallow! I gotta get off da pipe! Love it but it's not good for me. Addictive I believe you did call it. I'll try to watch but can't buy no more! Or much more. Lol 😆

  5. I'm an older gamer and have a lot of old games I still love (Star Fleet Battles, World in Flames, Snit's Revenge, and so on), so I find a lot of the 'hotness' don't really appeal to me. Most of these games like Scythe, I don't mind playing, but they don't grab me like they do for a large chunk of the hobby. I have a mix of old and new, and I vastly prefer heavy theme over dry euros, but do enjoy some games I thought I wouldn't like (Orleans, Space Base), and ended up not liking or being indifferent to games I thought I would enjoy (Terra Mystica, Tapestry). I'm a wargamer first, but do enjoy a lot of other game styles as well, and like to give games I'm sure I won't like a chance, but it doesn't always work out.

I've never played a Mindclash game yet, not that Covid and having no meetups for over a year helped that. So I am ambivalent to their 4x game, but I generally find board game 4x games hollow compared to computer games that can do a lot more with the genre than most board games can handle well.

  6. The Week in Review videos went from being my least favorite ones (because I basically new everything you said already) to some of my most favorite ones (providing ratings and context)!

  7. My wife and I have enjoyed Red Rising. Our plays have been close.
Our impression is that the 10 pts for the marker might be too much, but we haven't changed it yet (thinking 5 pts may be better).

  8. I don't have an issue with your What's Leaving My Collection videos. Even though you sometimes dump games I like or love or am excited for, it's not a problem because…well…it's not my collection you're trimming 🙂

  9. Looking forward to your Marvel United X-Men wrap up video… I'm at $1 although I'm a big fan of X-Men and also a painter but still, lots of money for a light chibi game.. still undecided…….

  10. 20 games a week? Damn man, I’m lucky if I get one a week right now! Honestly I’d be happy doing one an evening but due to current circumstances I just can’t do it. Makes me want to stop backing campaign games, full stop. Very difficult right now 🤔

  11. Sorry but that is a naive comment by all those people – what is 'the average gamer' ?
Is it the average euro-gamer, the average-ameritrash gamer, the average family gamer, the average light or party/casual gamer ? Every gamer will have different tastes and I can't believe it took you over 5 minutes in your video, especially at the speed you speak, to try and explain that … and even then you didn't really. And as a content creator/reviewer people will only watch you if they have a similar taste or opinion on games as you – does that make you or them average or non-average, right or wrong, or just a normal person with their only tastes.
As a final example I have very few euro-games in my medium size collection and would never consider buying (or playing) games like Root, Scythe, or Terraforming Mars – so if I had a Youtube channel and related that fact would viewers feel justified in criticising me for that ?

  12. One cool thing about the modern era of data about our bodies is that there are a lot of things we used to approximate with "weight" that we no longer have to. Muscle mass, blood pressure, your gut biome, your exercise heart rate, you name it — weight was always a not so great proxy for health (changing fat to muscle will increase your weight because muscle weighs more!), and we don't have to be bound to it anymore!

  13. I am looking forward to your thoughts on chronicles of drunagor. I will be needing to make a decision in the next few weeks regarding whether to keep it for a play through or to sell it while the iron is hot.

  14. Marvel United X-men was an easy pass for me. I passed on marvel United since the art work was not for me and fell into a bit to light category. The expansion for it seems more the same. As for weight. Keep going, it is a slow process. Calories in and calories out matters. And maintaining muscle mass can help with the calories out part. I always have very mixed feelings on backing Kickstarters. Oftentimes, the exclusives are what pulls me in. I take issues with Kickstarter exclusives and acknowledge that I am part of the issue for backing those.

  15. Hi Alex, couple of weeks ago you were planning on playing Western Legends. I am not sure if you've already mentioned your thoughts on that game thoroughly or that it still needs some plays in? Nonetheless, I am looking forward to your opinion. And imo you still look very slim 😉

  16. So here's a question (or two) for you Alex (and possibly a topic for a future video?) – you play so many new games each week. How do you go about learning them so quickly? Do you have any tips for making the process more enjoyable? Reading through a long manual is never fun, and spending a few hours going through it on a first play-through is a drag.
