Brand NEW Champion Point & Companion System with ESO Blackwood – 2021



The Newest Year long Chapter was just revealed for ESO and we are going to Blackwood and the deadlands. But not only that, we are getting a completely new Champion Point System that will raise the CP Cap, and we are getting a new Companion System as well.   1. I can't wait for the companion feature. I play both WoW and Star Wars online and having a companion in Star Wars for solo or duo content makes the game so much better, it feels like play DAO and/or Skyrim, you never feel alone.

  2. The level caps been raised?…sod that, time to play another game, its only to keep people playing i recon, amazing game but after years playing it its gone a tad dull..if they were to bring out new classes that would be good but hey ho

Hopefully this will remove the meta builds and make people bring interesting build and stuff, this game is awesome but really boring when people just farm the same thing over and over again, or have to redo everything every 3 months, like I want one character and be able to improve on it not just oh well time to farm a dungeon for 100 times to get that gear lol

  4. If its anything like SWTOR's companions, it boils down to having a combat pet that can be geared. Frankly if it helps solo play Im gonna be all over it. But being limited to a choice of 2 at start is a bit anemic. I hope i can replace them with future companions that might be more my type.

  5. I was excited, now I am mixed. Id much rather a companion i can completely customize, race, voice, class, looks, gear ect. Not just oh you can recruit Barry the Nord to join you in your adventure.

  6. If they do this companion system anything like the one in SWTOR it should work out okay. In that game there is a maximum allowed characters in a party, so if you have reached that or close your companions either go away or the team decides whose to keep. It actually works pretty good and since every player, regardless of class, gets a companion with their own storyline, it does sound very similar. These companions fill roles designated by the players, either dps, tank, or, most commonly, healer, and make soloing nearly all content viable, if not necessarily easy. I personally am looking forward to this element being added to ESO.

  7. Companion…literally stole from FFXIV

    Talking about that, ffxiv has like what 15 to 20 different jobs. Meanwhile ESO as like what ? 5 ?

    Although I’ll give ESO that contrary to most single player they somewhat managed to make a switch to online.

  8. umm I took a look on the test server. On first glance the new CP system looks like a nurf (as in you need to invest way more points to get to the power level you were at before) until you look at the patch notes.
    All characters have had their base Health increased to 16,000, up from 8744 and their Magicka and Stamina has increased to 12,000, up from 7958.
    – These changes were made to offset the loss of the 20% stat increases gained from the original Champion Point system.
    Characters now start with 20 Weapon and Spell Damage at level 1 and gain an additional 20 per level, up to 1000 at level 50.
    Characters now also take 15% reduced damage at base, to reduce the loss of the mitigation from the Champion Point system.

    So the new CP system is about options. and much of the base stats vertical increase has been shoved into the 1-50 journey.

  9. The Companion System is an odd thing to add to a game like ESO that has such a nice community and it is really no problem to get other players to help you! You get help with just a small effort!
    If you as a player, are so anti-social and play that much solo that you need a bot to play with – What are you doing in an MMO?!
