Swatting is a criminal harassment tactic of deceiving an emergency service (via such means as hoaxing an emergency services dispatcher) into sending a police and emergency service response team to another personβs address. This is triggered by false reporting of a serious law enforcement emergency, such as a bomb threat, murder, hostage situation, or a false report of a βmental healthβ emergency, such as reporting that a person is allegedly suicidal or homicidal and may or may not be armed.[3]
The term is derived from the law enforcement unit βSWATβ (special weapons and tactics), a specialized type of police unit in the United States, carrying military-style equipment such as door breaching weapons, submachine guns, automatic rifles, and sniper rifles. A threat may result in the evacuations of schools and businesses. Advocates have called for swatting to be described as terrorism due to its use to intimidate and create the risk of injury or death.[4]
Making false reports to emergency services is a criminal offense in many countries, punishable by fines and imprisonment.[5] In March 2019, a California man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for carrying out a fatal 2017 swatting.[6] It carries a high risk of violence, and causes tax dollars to be wasted by the city or county when responding to a false report of a serious law enforcement emergency, as well as liability if things go wrong.[7]:1[8][9] In California, swatters bear the βfull costβ of the response which can lead to fines up to $10,000.[10]

If I would be a big Streamer. I would give my address to the locals and warn them that something like this might could happen. So before they send out the troops, they can make a call if everything is alright. Because they waste time like this and also streamers lifes are in danger for no reason…
Person who did this needs to go to jail
Damn, Daniel Klein really took offense to that tweet.
The people that make the call, can be put in jail for a felony.

Why do the cops respond to every call they get like this without any information at all ?
Drama happens with the dev and a streamer

Teammates STFU
Bruh…this is terrible. The last time heard was close to my hometown. The owner got killed and the guy who swatted him was charged with manslaughter or murder and making false reports of crime.
Yeah they need to use a vpn
Bro he took that so well
Why do people do this it's like so stupid
Not to downplay this event at all…because it seriously is devastating and very well could destroy someone's life…but something about all of this is suspicious…just to start my point…police..or swatt…do not breach a house or residence in that manner…the length of the interaction itself was substantially short…(if) when typical raids happen…its not a 5 minute interaction…it usually leads to your house completely destroyed..and someone arrested….like I said to me its suspicious…and I think the entire ordeal fabricated
Plot twist: it's a VPN ad…
I think im going to tatto that , real life can catch you.
This was staged. The cops never came in and cleared his room as you never see them in video. He said they kicked in the front door of his home but then knocked on his bedroom door, that also doesn't make sense. The cops wouldn't kick down the front door unless they had a warrant telling them they could OR if they saw or heard anything indicating a serious threat to life or property inside the home.
Pretty sad when someone wants to be swatted so bad they fake it like this.
I'd say if he never produced the police report from the incident then its proof it was fake. Every other swatting you see the cops clear the house room by room but in this one we see none of that. They also don't announce anything descriptive either when calling out. Many if not all police agencies will announce their full name when calling out to occupants in a house. Also with how clear his mic recorded those voices from the other room I find it impossible to believe that when the cops first got to the house and called out and knocked on the front door that it wouldn't have been picked up by his mic, even if he himself didn't hear it over his headphones. Furthermore there is zero chance they kicked in his front door without him hearing it, that isn't something thats quiet when it happens, this is further supported by him returning to the stream so quickly, if his front door really was broken he would be spending alot more time securing it shut until the cops replace it or the frame, whichever ended up getting broken. AND there is no way they would have left the scene THAT FAST. If they had to force entry to a home they would have to conduct a full use of force investigation which means he wouldn't have gotten back on stream for several hours if that as a detective would have come out to question him and gather evidence to support the officers decision to make entry to the home.
If you gonna fake something like this at least make a half assed attempt at making it look real..
