  1. You may recognise my name, I've commented several times before. Trust me when I say that this game is potentially life-engulfing! I'll narrow things down to the facts that you SHOULD really play daily, as there are missions provided which give you free benefits and character enhancing items plus in-game currency. I play not strictly free-to-play as I have bought 2 bonus deals where you get considerably more enhancement items during a 40 day period ( Gnostic Hymn ). There is a system called Gacha, which is deeply involved with "wishing/pulling" for new characters and weapons. This is where people can spend a lot of money, if they want to or if they're not careful, lol! Each wish costs a certain amount of a resource which is provided in a drip-fed manner through daily play and event rewards etc. You CAN purchase more of it through micros but I have never felt the need to and I currently have 21 usable characters, some of which I don't have enough resources to level-up to the first ones I chose to do so with! It is largely based around elemental reactions and a combo of melee and ranged weaponry. There are story-based missions from the start and more added as your level increases. The music and graphics are quite stunning…In a BotW shaded way. There IS a lot of grinding needed for character and weapon upgrades. Hope you made it this far…definitely worth a craic lad!

  2. Will warn you, while the media advertises this game as a "BotW style game" in reality it plays nothing like it. This more plays like an MMO light with use of elemental reactions for boosted damage rather than raw damage via melees or using a bow. The game is definitely all about developed combat over puzzles. No puzzle is complicated that doesn't just tell you the answer. Each character only gets one weapon each and can not change the type of weapons they have. Also, this is a gacha game so your experience will vary from others. Events in game are limited time and never return so events you haven't played are just missed. So there will be holes in the story and large portions of the game you will never get to play since you came in late.

Also no, game didn't come out spring 2020, it was delayed by Covid to I believe October 2020.

  3. Be warned while this is a great game eventually you'll run out of area's to explore and have to wait for the devs to make new content and you'll be stuck building up your characters for months.

  4. The story is not yet finished by any means, they expand it a little bit on every update, but to be honest it's not quite great. That said, this game has A LOT of content and exploration. And you can play it for free without any problem. Yes, you need a bit of luck to get the characters you want, but in the end I'm having a lot of fun with it. Hope you enjoy it if you finally dive in 🙂

  5. So, from the perspective of someone who has played this game literally every single day since it came out, let me tell you some things about it:

Firstly, a lot of content shown in these trailers is temporary content. Whether it's characters or events like the Windblume Festival (Which is, at the time of posting this, the current ongoing event), these things show up for a time, and then disappear when the event is over. Characters however, such as Venti, Childe/Tartaglia, Klee, and, unfortunately yes, Zhongli, are only obtainable during their specific event. They will have re-runs in the future where you can obtain them, but for the moment, there is no way of getting them unless you got them when their event was active.

Second, this is a 'Gacha' Game, which means you use ingame currency, which can also be purchased for real world money, and 'roll' for characters and weapons. You are not guaranteed to get the character you want, and have effectively no way of targeting characters you want, except for 'event' characters where, even then, when you get a 5 star character (Characters are either 4 star, or 5 star, with 5 star being the more rare, but more powerful), it's only a 50% chance it will be the event character. A lot of math goes into the chances and whatnot though.

Yes, there is a story. There is currently 2 zones, Mondstadt, which is like fantasy Germany (And the frozen mountain is a part of Mondstadt, though was added after launch), and Liyue, fantasy China. The overall story is a much longer term deal, where it just kinda has bits and pieces here and there. Right now, it's not the focus of the game. The game is instead focusing on its world building, so you start out following the storyline of Mondstadt, then you move to Liyue, and that zone has its own storyline. Then, Dragonspine, the mountain, also has its own story. Later on they will be adding more zones to make the map bigger and bigger. The one coming next up is Inazuma which is like fantasy Japan, and after that, is Sumeru, fantasy Egypt it looks like. The video you watched at 53:20 was showing future planned content.

This game can be a lot of fun to just play through casually, and you don't necessarily need to get super invested. That being said, A LOT of the content of this game is more aimed at those of us who are playing it every day. There is a lot of grinding you have to do to level up your 'Adventure Rank', because story quests require you to reach certain levels before you can even do them. There are times where you'll spend an hour or two doing a story quest, only to, at the end of it, be basically told "Come back when you get 5 more levels", and you realize it's going to be a week of doing your daily quests and such before you get those levels.

This game is, obviously, heavily inspired by Breath of the Wild. However, while the freedom to go where you want and explore what you want is definitely there… the freedom to do what quests you want, complete what story you want, all of that, is definitely not. Unlike Breath of the Wild where you can, if you so choose, go straight from the Great Plateau to Ganon and fight him in the first hour of gameplay, this game requires you to do the story in order, and has many requirements you must achieve before you're allowed to progress.

All in all it's a fun game, but it is, unfortunately, not the sort of game where you can go into it going "I can't wait to play this specific character" because there is no guarantee you will EVER get to play them. Much of the initial content of this game is just exploring, finding treasure chests, puzzles, and side quests. And the best part? Your weapons don't break! You can have a lot of fun with this game just playing it casually, as I said. But honestly, you won't get the most out of it unless you are willing to have some amount of dedication to it.

Again, I have played this game literally every day since it came out. I have spent 25 USD every month on it for the battle pass and monthly daily login bonus. And to this day, there are still 6 characters I don't have. 2 of them aren't even event characters… Diluc, and Mona. And I can't say when, or even if, I'll ever get them.

The 'dedication' I have is playing the game for an hour or less each day, and that's it.

  6. The game is pretty good and I think you're going to like it, especially if you like Breath of the Wild. There's a lot to explore in the lands and collectibles that will help upgrade your characters, similar to how you collect the Korok seeds. Lots of side missions to keep yourself busy with individual story missions for each of the unlocked characters to go through. The combat is also fun, which while simplistic, relies a lot on building your team members and chaining their attacks and elements together. There are so many ways to build your own teams which encourage trials and errors. Also, the overall production value is quite impressive, from the graphics (which is just gorgeous on the max settings), the voice acting, the cinematics, etc. make this one of the best action-gacha game I've played.

However, it is still a "gacha" game at the end of the day, so expect lots and lots of daily grinding to farm materials to upgrade your characters, weapons and skills, farm the wishes to pull your rare characters only to end up with millions of crappy weapons, fight the same mobs and bosses over and over and over to get the loots with low percentage drops, wait for specific days in order to enter specific dungeons to fight specific bosses in the same way you've done before to farm some more and so on… Those kinds of things.

In any case, I had LOTS of fun with this game and it's something I can certainly recommend to others wholeheartedly (especially since it's free!), but the gacha nature of the game along with the grinding can really wear you down (unless you start to pay to win). I got a lot out of this game but eventually got burned out. I planned to take a temporary break and never got back to it, because there's really not much left to do at that point and I didn't want to fall back into the daily grinding again. They're adding more things now like new minigames and such, but it's not enough to lure me back in, especially when Monster Hunter Rise is coming out.

Anyway, I would love to see you trying this game out, but don't get addicted to the grinding for the love of god! XD

Also, are you picking Monster Hunter Rise up? I would also love to see you play that game. If you haven't even looked into the game before, I think it would be great for you to do a trailer reaction to it as well!

  7. A couple of years ago I've seen you react to rwby and dead fantasy both by Monty. And now youtube recommended you again, your reactions are so cool hehe! I'm a Genshin player now and I liked your first impressions to game 😁. You can try the game and I'll guarantee you'll love it coz it's NOT PAY TO WIN. The game's lore is also interesting.

  8. Yes there’s a fair bit of grinding
You have to do the daily commissions & use resin to boost your “Adventure’s Rank” to enable you to unlock more story & domains to farm resources for your characters but once you hit adventure rank 30 pretty much everything is unlocked

  9. Yeah I share the same opinion. The game has a lot of content but a story is missing somehow. I would love to play it as well! But if the story is not so great or non-existant, that ruins a bit the excitement.

  10. I grew up with Zelda OoT was my first Game

BUT I like Genshin Impact more than Breath of the Wild. Because I like the Gameplay and Story more (espacially because most BotW Story happened before you Start the Game)

Also Genshin is a completely new Franchise while BotW took the Zelda Formula I liked and replaced it. Because of that I allways thought Breath of the Wild is a good Game but not a good Zelda.
