Every gen another generation of gamers grown up with videogames which is why it is bigger than ever. Also gaming rivals any other form of entertainment and I’d argue it’s far better than say reality tv, or binge watching Netflix. I have no problem with any of those things by the way. Just saying they are similar. A hobby is a hobby. There are all kind of games but they’ve become way more cinematic as well in a lot of triple A games making them basically interactive movies with real stories. Gaming as a hobby is no different than any other form of entertainment. I mean if that is true than adults liking comic book characters and seeing Marvel movies are equally as childish. Come on now. This trope is so dated.
"Too old to play video games" when these people barely had a stick bouncing and blocking a ball from scoring (tetris) either way, I look it as those who say it are just jealous they don't got the time to play it OR scoffed at it never even bother to try. Plenty of 50-60+ to wanna try and explore especially (lower settings) enjoy something just if not better than cinema. Uncharted, The Walking Dead series, Hot Shots Golf, Mario Kart, etc for different genres to play.
