Cyberpunk 2077 is an action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt Red. It is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One on 10 December 2020, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021. The story takes place in Night City, an open world set in the Cyberpunk universe. Players assume the first-person perspective of a customizable mercenary known as V, who can acquire skills in hacking and machinery with options for melee and ranged combat.
Cyberpunk 2077 is played in a first-person perspective as V, a mercenary whose voice, face, hairstyles, body type and modifications, background, and clothing are customizable. Stat categories—Body, Intelligence, Reflexes, Technical, and Cool—are influenced by the character classes that players assume, which are NetRunner (hacking), Techie (machinery), and Solo (combat). V must consult a “ripperdoc” to upgrade and purchase cyberware implants; black markets offer military-grade abilities. The rarity of any given equipment is shown by a coloured tier system. V can take cover, aim, run, jump, double jump, and slide. Melee strikes can be dealt with close-combat weapons. There are three types of ranged weapons, all of which can be customised and modified—Power (standard), Tech (which penetrate walls and enemies), and Smart (with homing bullets). Ranged weapons are equipped to ricochet bullets in a target’s direction and slow them down in bullet time. Four types of damage can be inflicted and resisted—Physical, Thermal, EMP, and Chemical. Weapon use increases accuracy and reloading speed, which are manifested in character animations. Gunsmiths repair and upgrade weapons. The game can be completed without killing anyone, with non-lethal options for weapons and cyberware.
Night City is an American megacity in the Free State of North California, controlled by corporations and unassailed by the laws of both country and state. It sees conflict from rampant gang wars and its ruling entities contending for dominance. The city is reliant on robotics for everyday aspects like waste collection, maintenance, and public transportation.

From what I can tell, the main issue with ballooning saves has to do with the amount of individual items your create or loot, and it does not purge the data from the game when those items are sold or dismantled. So it is actually safer to dupe components rather than craft and dismantle for them.
I'm at 4mb right now, I have done 5% of the main story. I have been busy with crafting looting junk and doing side mission. Then I heard about this save file corruption when it reached 8mb. Wtf! It's a rpg! imagine if skyrim had this issue.
Lol, I didn't use the duplication exploit just playing and my save file is almost 6MB. Crafting way more dangerous. And I craft a lot. Oh, sorry. Crafted, because it seems I can't do that now.

What’s wild is my current play through is sitting around 13 mbs. Each time I’d close the game and re-open I was just waiting for that corruption message to pop up. I’d loot anything I could get my hands on and did nearly all the side gigs yet nothing. My sympathies to all the folks that lost all their progress due to this ridiculous feature. Playing on base PS4 btw..
What if we all misunderstood CDPR intention, that this is actually a deliberate effort. As V needs to race against time to find a cure for his/her life against that busted chip in the head and will wipe the identity. You as a player also needs to race against time to beat the game before the save file reaches 8 MBs or all your progress is lost.
Is this just for pc cuz my ps4 save size is 12mb so I don't really know and haven't had any issues
im a ps4 pleb my save is at 15.8mb havent had a issue yet, but i used savewizard to give 9999999 of all crafting mats

I don’t dupe too much, when it costs about 500 units to upgrade an item, I keep them around 10k
The amount of items and components are not really the problems and should not be, the file size increases due to progressing on missions and stories. I got 300k+ components on my account but it sits at 4.2mb, the progress is after finishing ‘I walk the line’ quest. But you should try on clothes and vehicles too and see if that increases. I think maybe my file sizes is half way to break is because hoarding clothes? Idk tbh, or it might just because I cleared out a bunch of blue color icon missions too.
My Saved game is 5.3 MB and i have not done any dooping at all just played the game done a fair amount o crafting but only am at 15 crafting also. I am at the point in the story were i am at the point of no return for the main story quest and have cleared out about 2 zones of side quests. And collected about 15 iconics.
Yeah, I dupped over 500K of all components, 85mil eddies (autohotkey+SteamLink on another PC FTW), and a bunch of other crap, and my game save is at barely over 4MB…
Everything the game writes to the save file is said to be permanent.
just dont dupe.. if you want to "cheat".. just use WeMod – perfectly save and tons of options..
Hopefully they fix the max save size. It’s stupid to make a ton of crap lootable and then crash your save if you pick it all up.
Don’t know why there’s a save size limit anyways, especially since you can’t tell on consoles.
