I think where caustic really shines is in ranked where teams like to stick together and push together. We all know how crazy endgame ranked can be with 6 squads still alive, and it is at this moment where locking down a building (possibly the last building in zone) is so crucial and nobody does it better than caustic.
He has been my main since season 4 and i have not stopped playing him no matter what was done to him. He is better but still subpar IMHO, I still have teams willing to fight in my gas and not having the damage stack is a bummer. I don't play defense with him, I push, though his traps are useful for a heads up in certain areas though.

Wait so that first clip just made me realize….? When all of your teammates are knocked at the end of a game, no gold shields, but you still stay knocked, it doesn't squad wipe right away… Does that happen only with caustic? i.e. when there's still damage that you could deal? Or why does this happen? This is one of those small details of apex i never understood
This isn't related but I hate that volt skin with every fiber in my being. I hate things with a lot of little moving legs.

A Caustic buff that I'd like:
Once taken damage by the gas, and then dipping out, the enemy should still be slowed and take damage for 3 ticks.
Reason for this:
Players don't really fear the gas all that much. Like it's there, it's a nuisance, but there will be players that will rush in.
This buff will make it so that the gas is more of an area denial like it should be and will punish players who venture in.

While technically a buff, it's still not remotely comparable to where he used to be. I hear people talk about how it stacks to INFINITE damage now! It maxes at 11 that'll only hit once before the can goes away and that's only if you stand on top of it for the entire duration. The good doctor deserves more respect than this.

Hey guys, I got my PC yesterday and I started playing apex on mk. I’m trash af 😂. I need some tips and I’m not a total noob, I’m from console so I know what I’m doing in game. It’s just hard for me to hit the right keys sometimes.
Idk if my friend clipped but but I had died but he just started dropping gas traps on the opponents and won the game

The buffs in the update could be a deciding variable.
You know what to be honest with you as someone who been playing caustic since season 3 ever the first big nerf they gave him in season 8 he hasn't really necessarily felt the same but this buff is gonna take a lot of time for me to get used to if I may be honest but it does look a little promising I must admit.

I have a friend that’s a caustic main and he’s always complaining about his big nerf a while back but I played as him recently because of the challenges and I got dubs both games, his gas is definitely a lifesaver if you’re smart about it

In 10sec his gas was as follows per season: (S3) -79hp, (S9) –70hp.As a Caustic main from S3 He's ok now. If you add up the numbers from then to the current balance he's doing less damage now than when nobody talked about him (before his insane buff). And the fact that his damage is uncapped doesn't even matter because the gas runs out before high damage is achieved! The damage bonus every other 2sec is welcomed! But he's still too weak. If his current damage started at 6 base damage and capped at 10, then he would be balanced. Not OP for unskilled players to use but a good enough deterrent for high skilled player's not to just run straight through.

I feel like its too much, he either should have less traps per minute, or it doesnt slow you down that bad.
its so annoying that he basicaly has unllimited traps, you cant see, move and get damage. its a bit much with, idk 8 traps per minute.
Caustic is good but give us threat detection on top of something of his passive right now since his gas vision through it has been made easier to see make threat detection part of his tactical and ult. Kind of like what they did for fuses ult and give caustic a new passive.
This seasons Buff is definitely a step in the right direction.
