  1. Realized one of the things I've felt was missing gameplay wise would be police chases somewhere between car escape at end of "Heist" mission with drones and police vehicle chases like in Need for Speed: Most Wanted depending on your crime alert level instead of evading for 2 blocks and all is back to normal, or having to switch wardrobe/vehicles since it was stated at start in Victor's that our face is scrambled but everything else is visible to security cameras.

  2. They probably tested on a dev kit and not a consumer model console.
And they saw major improvements with the day zero patch.

And as I said before, it's a next gen (pc) game ported to consoles. So people being mad that they can't play it on last gen consoles, what did you expect?

And you can't be to mad for this as many other companies do this the other way around but the other way around. Every tried to play a game with IJKL buttons as attack keys because it's a ported console game? Often without even try to adjust the UI to PC?

    Are the problems bad, yes.
But I also think the whole issea has been blown up, majorly by people to create a bigger controversy (hey gonna farm those clicks right) then it actually is.

  3. On the topic of them not testing, what I think has likely happened is they've used the dev kit versions of last gen consoles, and since they have better specs overall to allow for easier game development they never encountered those issues.

  4. I'm going to make a suggestion, not in CDPRs defence I might add, and as I have no coding skills or experience feel free to shoot me down in flames if it is just me being silly.
Is it possible that the majority of the coding was done on PC controlled emulators, I know that consoles effectively use locked CPUs and GPUs and so presumably the programming language is more or less the same across all platforms, and that the emulators used were somehow acting as unlocked and this is what lead to the discrepancies between what the Devs reported they were seeing and what the customers saw.

  5. The Witcher 3 had a rocky and buggy release as well and nobody really ever brings that up now, and often refer to it was one of the best RPGs ever made. I feel like CDPR took a big hit to their reputation overall, but they'll do the right thing. We're getting bug fixes, performance upgrades, and most likely a lot of free DLC.

  6. It's all bullshit. They got caught. They are being forced to apologize. The polish government is up their asses. I won't be happy until they deliver on their promises or some one gets fired.

  7. You're mssing an important point: software houses usually do their testings on "special" versions of said consoles. It is possible that since those are usually made before the actual final product, they are actually different from consumer products

  8. I play on a PS4 and rarely get a game breaking or even crash bug. Is a bit hanky, but over all the half-arsing of quest stories is the problem. Seems like half the non-main quests are cut in half and unresolved.

  9. I think that what they were saying is that they were noticing different bugs and performance issues when they were testing it on old-gen consoles, and they were fixing them before the release. Software is really complex, and honestly, I haven't noticed that many bugs when I play on XBox One so that seems entirely believable to me. If they were only testing each nightly build for an hour or two, it's entirely possible that they never noticed face textures failing to load for a few seconds or cars glitching through the map.

  10. Doubt you'll see this but I got a buddy 200 hours on ps5 cyberpunk he has 5 crashes i have 200 hours ps5 i had 250 crashes so it seems it is possible different consoles treat the game differently. Love the content man.

  11. About the testing for console; if they are testing on a dev kit machine or a rig set up to mimic a console, which is factory new with nothing going on in the background; no tracking or adverts or anything, then it's not unfeasible that the game may have worked fine – but no one plays on a console like that.
That's not to excuse for not testing on "real" consoles mind; but it does explain the oversight.
