  1. Even I knew something was up when they came out with those comparison videos of the game being played on current and next gen consoles. They never looked all that impressive as it looked when they showed it off for the first time and it was even more suspicious when they never showed it playing on the non pro model PS4. And now we know why.

  2. You buy something you expect it to work but here you are without your money and with a ton of trouble. And let me tell you that it's not even an RPG it's a fancy looking Borderlands GTA with 2 hours worth of story and 20 hours of go there shoot this.

  5. When will people learn to quit expecting great things from big games anymore. Games get released unfinished and buggy and โ€œeventuallyโ€ get fixed. Itโ€™s what sucks about digital releases. Gives them wayyyy too much slack and devs get lazy af

  6. @Modern Vintage Gamer you have never seen something like this you say? This is nothing new. Remember Anthem? I've heard from people that played it day one that they hadn't finished making the game, so you couldn't even beat it. Look back at Halo 2. I still have the gamepro issue from 2002 where they showed all these vehicles and weapons that never made it into the game, and the fact they got caught when it turned out the live E3 demo was running on either a beefed up dev kit or straight up PC and the Xbox would never look like it. Shoot look at Destiny 2 right now. They are still selling the game with the Year 1 DLC expansions but they patched the game so you can't play the original campaign or Year 1 DLC.

  7. On the Xbox side of things, the base models have been on sale for seven years. The One X only for three. So I suspect the largest percentage of Xbox purchases were for the base version of the game. I'm surprised Microsoft is so willing to remain silent on this. The majority of their 8th gen community got screwed on a purchase. To make matters worse, Microsoft's marketing of the game, including the Special Edition Cyberpunk version of the console, could be seen by Xbox owners as an endorsement of the final product. The "Microsoft Stamp of Approval", so to speak. Perhaps they consider them to be "old news" and they're only chasing the 9th gen customers now.

  8. I think their target was just way too high to start with. They promised this incredible world and game, which graphically is just a step too far. I donโ€™t think it will ever be fixed on base consoles.

  9. I haven't played it on console but I am playing it on PC. I've got a fairly good PC, and was able to run stuff like Devil May Cry 5 at max settings, 1080p 120+ FPS. So why, oh why, can't I play Cyberpunk 2077 at anything above medium settings if I want to stay in the 40-60 range? The performance of this game is absolutely horrid. I'm still enjoying playing it but man… it's really not got enough going for it that warrants that big of a performance tank. It's no wonder they couldn't get it running on base consoles very well! Hopefully, if they do manage to fix performance on consoles, the upgrades trickle over to PC so I don't have to play it at pretty much potato settings on a PC that has no issue running anything else. Witcher 3 looks far better than this game does since I can push the graphics much higher.

  10. Long before launch, I was struggling to see why people were so excited about the game. I remember watching the early gameplay footage and not being that impressed. But figured that when it finally launched, and I gave it a shot (post launch, wasn't going to preorder) it would probably be a fun game.
Cut to just before launch, still no sight of PS4/XB1 versions and a PC review embargo only, with restrictions on only using CDPRs stock footage no less…

I feel bad for the devs that have been crunching for months on all these different versions of the game, likely from home during the pandemic, but I have zero sympathy for the CDPR higher ups who gave the green light for the console versions to launch in this state. When it was clear that it was such a shitshow, it could have launched on PC and been pushed to 2021 on consoles. It would have been a PR disaster no doubt, but it would have been better than this mess.
You only get one launch, and for a company seemingly obsessed with Metacritic scores, having critic scores in the 50s and user scores under 3, was meeting the holiday launch worth it?
