CD Projekt Red RESPONDS To Cyberpunk 2077 Controversy – Apology Video & Update Roadmap

While there are contradictions here, I have to be honest. You didn’t see anyone from Bethesda after Fallout 76 or anyone from EA after Anthem. I applaud the accountability here, but there are multiple conflicting statements within CD Projekt Red’s apology video in regards to Cyberpunk 2077 that really surprised me. I’m talking glaring oversights here. Between that and an update roadmap, we have plenty to discuss today.

  1. No comment on restoring the cut content though. I appreciate the effort he made to apologise but the only problems he approached were the graphical issues and bugs. We need to know whether mechanics will be fixed (AI, driving and the wanted system) or that content that was cut at the last minute will be restored. I don’t care about item packs and haircuts. I want the endings to missions.
It’s also pretty hard to take an apology from a man that looks so much like Draco Malfoy but that’s just me.

  2. Also, I’m just treating the December release as a beta. Enjoyed what I got but I’ll wait till all the fixes, next gen, and content are added before a second playthrough.

  3. How is this 'wild'? They're focusing on the console issues to avoid admitting they under-delivered on the game itself, and lying about their values and intentions regarding quality, when said values weren't held strongly enough to stop them doing what they did with the deception.

    Piss poor.

  4. I honestly haven’t touched it since the launch of the game. I’m on pc. So many bugs that just take me out of the game. I really want to enjoy it but damn I’m pretty beat on FPS games. I am one of those people who played primarily in 3rd person in Skyrim and fallout lol so also waiting for a mod that isn’t bugged out

  5. For any of these CDPR bosses to say that this situation was a complete surprise, is just pure bullshit. There is no way in hell they didn't know the state the game was in, and that at best they were releasing a discount version of the game with half the game missing because of cut and unfinished content. If they released the game because they were reluctant to delay the game again, gotta say that really worked out since now we don't have a new release date but instead a whole f.cking roadmap of release dates to try and fix this mess. A roadmap. For a single player game. Yay.

  6. 5:39 Uh, Matty? They didn't say the DLC wouldn't be delayed. In fact, quite the opposite. At 3:50 in the "Commitment to Quality" video, he literally says the DLC would be delayed in order to focus on releasing patches first, instead.

  7. It seems like they are going about this whole thing backwards. Why not get out the next-gen version sooner and scrap the last gen version? Then release the free dlcs? Seems like its WAY simpler to port the PC version to next gen version consoles then the old consoles

  8. I dont think the no mans sky comparison holds up. They literally lied in every single demo, saying it was procedural n it wasnt. Promised the game was multiplayer, SHIPPED THE GAME with an online play logo on the back THEN PUT A STICKER OVER IT. Cyberpunk is just glitchy

  9. I mean there is a little, very very little possibility that they haven't had this issues, In my first run on Version /1.04/1.05 I had the least amount of bugs no major crashes or any mission breaks. In my second run on version 1.06I can't progress because my phone is completely broken, it seems like they fixed it partly but also busted it more in other parts.

  10. I got really annoyed when he said the PC version was the game they intended to release. I was looking forward to what this game might be in a year but it sounds like they have no intention of fixing anything other than the bugs. I'm relieved that they're even doing that but 90% of the problems I had with this game were content related and not bug related

  11. I only own a base xbox one and I've been waiting to play this game until the big updates come out to play this. I think it looks good but I wont play it with the buggy experience.

  12. Though I am still enjoying the game it is not the amazing rpg I was promised. I play on ps4 and have a CTD once to twice while playing. The A.I. is not good, character customization is not great, armor feels meaningless, and with several characters dying with your choices not being able to change that for at least one makes your choices feel useless. So an apology is only good if there are fixes actually applied.

  13. Its not really ‘wild’ though is it to release an apology video like this given the backlash and press etc, still nice to hear and im being patient myself and waiting for the fixes as im confident this can be a good game given enough time. I mean look at fallout 76, thats not a Total train wreck now i suppose

  14. Be sure to take the console version off on your taxes since research for work is the only reason you’d buy it. As for us PC users, it seems like we paid for a year long beta test before getting the full game. Sigh….. but I think I knew that before buying in. So it’s my choice to be on the 2077 ride. 😜

  15. Hold on, I swear cpr claimed the reason they delayed the game from nov to dec was to finalise the next gen updates and now its scheduled for second half of this year

  16. I’m concerned about the fact that they have only mentioned fixing “bugs and crashes” but nothing about the plethora of cut-content and the broken core elements of the game (driving mechanics, A.I. etc.) because those things are also important.

  17. It's unfortunate that the game was released the way it was on consoles. I've enjoyed the game despite that, but it could have been so much better with more time. I hope these updates and DLCs get us to where we all hoped the game would be.

  18. i think that this video from cdpr is more a damage control, not a commitment to make the game what it was promised first of all, it's not just about bugs…game is unfinished in all aspects and there are some very badly broken core mechanics that they will not repair or replace, at least i believe they will not… do not trust the hope guys! 🙁

  19. They need to address the bugs, but there’s a lot in the world that needs improvement that I’m worried DLC won’t effect. Like NPCs and the Police spawning, as well as traffic (both pedestrian and vehicle) improvements. I hope some of that is addressed in patches (especially the police), or maybe even the DLC, but I’m skeptical with how many bugs they need to address.

  20. I’m playing on my series X and loving it. If you’re a person waiting for the next gen update…then wait. It seems like you’re back to what go is here with trying to rush them into getting it out sooner than they should. I don’t expect the story DLC be o be free, and remember that you’re basically saying that the developers shouldn’t get bonuses from DLC sales.
