Challenging and unforgettable! – Hollow Knight review

Did playing Hollow Knight bring me one step closer to liking difficult games? Not really, but I can kind of see the appeal. I underestimated how much content was going to be in the game though, it’s great!

  1. Thanks for taking the time to write and edit the review. So far I've tried to get into HK twice, both times I played for about 20-30 hours and even though I really enjoyed my time with it, there's just something that prevents me from truly enjoying it.
Symphony of the night was great for me because you could discern each area just by its music, enemies or ambient alone, same with the Souls series, HK being inspired by them left me wandering aimlessly all the time, but I'm not the kind of person that enjoys puzzles or feeling lost, so it might be a personal thing.

  2. Nice review. I like a game with a challenge and difficulty. But I'm also interested in the lore of the game too. It's makes every battle and hidden places enjoyable. I don't if Hollow Knight is the game for me I think. But I enjoyed the review.

  3. Fantastic video! This game was recently given in PS+. I'm looking forward to playing it as soon as possible! Just need to get some work stuff done before. If you haven't played the earlier games in the genre (Super Metroid and Castlevania SOTN) I highly highly recommend those as well!

  4. I have had this game downloaded on my xbox for months, maybe even a year at this point, it's a game that I really want to play but I am also intimidated by it because of the length and difficulty

  5. I recognize that this game is a masterpiece but i'm just not into metroidvanias sadly, dropped it 20 hours in when exploration became a chore for me. The music and atmosphere is fucking amazing tho, city of tears left me speechless. Boss fights are super fun too
