They need have a booting system when an online group see the watermark they can boot the cheater out of the game.
The looter shooter genre seems a bit played out at this point. Although the boomer shooters seem to just keep getting better.
Let me just start this off by stating I don't really care what anybody thinks, I'm just sharing a perspective. It doesn't bother me if you agree or disagree, it won't change my perspective.
My understanding from all the articles I've read on this is that the watermark would ONLY be visible to the cheater on their HUD, so it's not like you could look at their profile and see that they were/had been cheating. This was to shame players who cheat while streaming or for youtube content creation. Otherwise I think it's supposed to be mostly invisible to everybody else.
I could see if it was a PvP game, but not so much a PvE game…. especially since there is no 'single player offline' mode they could tinker around with. If there was they could be blocked from online play/matchmaking until EAC is restored and then continue normally.
I play casually, and hardly progress in grinding games like this and destiny although I find them fun. So I could see speeding this process up or "breaking" the game as you called it just to mess around and have fun. After all, it not being PvP it doesn't ruin anybody else's game.
I did this with Borderlands, modded the shit out of my game (after a few legit playthroughs) and had a lot of fun with it. But then returned things to normal and enjoyed joining in with friends. However, unlike your Borderlands example in the game, even if someone had a super modded weapon (which isn't really possible in this game since saves are kept on the server) they can't drop it for you in the game. There is no loot drop feature (at least there wasn't in the demo) and if they came in and started one-shotting everything you can always kick them from your session. Throwing them in a permanent bad sport lobby like GTA works, but they should still be able to join and play with friends if they want.
Ultimately if people can figure out work arounds for games like Division/Division 2 anticheat setups and still play online, they'll figure out how to bypass this without being detected too.

I think it's a great idea. I've played other SE online games and they are a company that will ban cheaters and such. It usually just takes them forever.
I'll be interested in how quickly they actually find cheaters and out them. I hope it's swift and sweeping.

Your Youtubers need to actually do research OK am I hate cheaters as much as it sounds like you do but there is a way to make it go away they can delete their account every character on it I mean all the gear and every character has to be to leave it down to start out fresh with nothing on Americal oh characters and they can get rid of the watermark that way and then I have to not cheat again because the moment they’re cheap detection figures out there cheating and they’ll get re-branding

Nonsense cheaters were cheating because cheaters always cheat and because they were going to carry over all the progress into the main game devil can fly just released like a few days before launch their solution to cheaters then it’s not so much a warning as it is a statement of what’s going to happen to you if you cheat in the main game. Stigmatizing cheaters is an awesome solution but many gaming companies won’t even tell you who reported them cheating and some live video of them doing it what the outcome was so do you really think most companies are going to adopt that method it would be nice if they did because again I would love seeing fallout 76 when I’m going to trade with some guy that I can see right on the guy when he came up to me or even on the WebCam that it would say this is a dupe Dedo do you know this guy is a cheater are you selling your job title don’t buy it unless you wanna I wanna On a duped item
Anakin most of what cheating went down pre-launch his self correcting because as we all level up will be getting the same eardrops they were getting but we won’t have the brand

I was into this game for the single player campaign, but the required online and inability to pause is a dealbreaker for me.
I understand it for the multi-player aspect (which I have no interest in), but between having kids and having crap internet, pausing and offline for my single player games is a must.
