Contingency: The History and Future of the Oldest Halo Fan Game

A Halo fan project has finally been able to give a release timeframe for their game. Contingency plans on delivering their Halo game to the community as soon as possible and this video dives deep into the history of the project as well as what they have in store for the future.

From Galaxy of Combat to Contingency, the game has seen many updates over the past decade. BVG Studios begun the tremendous endeavour and now the Contingency team hopes to take the dream and make it a reality.

Halo: Infinite may be coming to PC alongside the Xbox but that won’t stop this team to deliver their Halo multiplayer experience.

  1. It's amazing to see the project my friends have been slaving over for the longest time get closer and closer to completion. I've seen how much work they've put into it, and I am ecstatic to see the final product, as I hope everyone who watches this video is too.

  2. I remember when that first trailer was uploaded and it got me so hyped. I couldn't believe it was entirely made by fans. I'm amazed this project survived and is actually gonna be playable.

  3. Mod Support for MCC can't come soon enough.
With it all these Halo fan projects like I01, SPV3, Contingency and so many more will become MCC's greatest assets for long-term success.

  4. When the shotgun shoots, it fires single bullets in really fast succession, not a bunch of bullets all at once. There's also a lot of physics jank with the grenades and the 'needler'. I'm also not super sure about the weapon balancing, since it seems like the guns simultaneously kill too fast, and too slowly. The lighting work is pretty not-great too. And that's ignoring the obvious sound issues. I have no idea how they are expecting a March 2021 launch for this.

  5. Yeah, um…. how does this even exist still?
I mean, we all know how Halo Online went down. How is Microshit even allowing this, unless the just don't know about it yet?
In which case, maybe we should all shut up about it until it actually comes out, so it doesn't get sniped down, eh?

  6. Of course, this is still nto yet finished. Its still a little janky, lacking reload animations and grenade animations. Gun sounds are meh.

I think this needs a little more work, as the release month if it is in March, is only 2 to less months away. Other than that, I think this Halo fan game will be alright

  7. I grew up playing Halo as well, always wanted to do something like this but I ended up just creating my own project so I could play with my own ideas, anyone who cares can try it at repuls dot io…
WARNING to the hardcore gamers: I'm no artist, my goal was gameplay first and with over 50k players a month, I'm quite proud of it!

@TheChunkieBean, I'd love your opinion as well.. so long as its not on the gfx.. I'll improve it with time
