The versions tested were 1.000.001 on PS5 and 2.0.0.3 on Xbox Series X|S.

PS5 and Xbox Series X use a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 3840×2160 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 3456×1944.

Xbox Series S uses a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 2560×1440 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 2304×1296.

During gameplay pixel counts at 3840×2160 seem to be common on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Xbox Series S drops below its maximum resolution more often than the other two consoles. The resolution is lower on average during cutscenes than gameplay for all three consoles.

Stuttering unrelated to the frame rate can happen at some points on the Xbox consoles. This issue wasn’t encountered on PS5. An example of a level that this stuttering was found in is the level Hit The Road.

  2. Not a lot in it at all.
Xbox Series X shadows seem to be more inline with what I expect to see on PC while PlayStation 5 shadows are more console like.
Xbox Series X looks to have the cleaner 4K image in some parts this could just mean the resolution is dropping on the PlayStation 5 at them points further than Xbox Series X.

  3. Same 4k resolution, better shadows, better picture (chroma, colors, blacks, hdr… due to hdmi output, [look at "hdtvtest" vidéos]), better framerate, best latency (dualsense) and only 20go download.
What a technical win (on bc) for PS5 !

  4. Glad I got a PS5 and not series x that piece of garbage. Not only does it stutters with framerate but it has crappier shadowing. PS5 is the definitive way to play this game

  5. The fact that ps5 doesn't have VRR really hurts them. Kinda doesn't matter as much that the frames are higher. If it still drops then you will see it more on the console that doesn't have VRR
