The Street Samurai Build uses a combination of Katanas, Armor and a lot of speed in order to maneuver around enemies easily. Enemies in Cyberpunk 2077 have excellent aim against stationary targets, but they have difficulty hitting anyone who is moving even remotely a little bit. You will be moving so fast you will take damage much less often than you’d expect, as you hit and run all over the place.

Katanas deal exceptional damage per swing, often killing enemies in 2 or 3 swings or less, even dismembering them in many cases which just looks badass. You can even decapitate unsuspecting enemies as well in one swing, and what’s really great is that you make very little noise with this weapon, allowing you to pick off enemies one by one in some cases without even intending to.

Street Samurai Tips
I don’t use the Strong Attack much with this Build because I’m focused on moving quickly and not staying in one place in order to avoid gunfire. However, Strong Attacks can be performed rather quickly, and work well against harder single target enemies. If you like using it be sure to pick up the Roaring Waters Perk for increased damage when you do one.

I mentioned it before, but I’ll mention it again here, the best way to level up Athletics is by meleeing until your Stamina bar is exhausted. You can do this in or out of combat and you don’t even have to hit anyone at all. It’s extremely tedious to just sit there and attack air, but it works. Ideally you’d just level this up as you play, but you can also “farm” Athletics XP this way if you wish.

A good second weapon for this Build is a Sniper Rifle because it doesn’t need any Perks to be effective. It’s a great way to hit other enemy Snipers who are high up, or enemies that are too far away to get to. You shouldn’t need it often, but it doesn’t hurt to have one just in case.

Using the Mass Vulnerability Daemon before you run into combat can help with harder areas of the game. It reduces enemy Physical Resistances, allowing you to deal more damage. Make sure you take this Perk if you’re having trouble, as you can get it right away.

You can use the Mantis Blades if you want with this Build since you will need similar Attributes and Perks to make it work. You can acquire these from Ripperdocs around Night City for a handful of cash.

Lastly, I like to use the Ping Quickhack for this Build because it reveals all enemies in an area. Knowing where to go next after you down an enemy is very important, and it’s easy to lose track of exactly where enemies are when you are flying around so fast in first person. Use this one so that you don’t waste time looking around while you get shot.

  1. Anybody else besides me want a red hood Jason Todd build and a Harley Quinn build also just a thought I think it would if someone customized a female character to look like a female version of male characters like Jason Todd or Nagisa from Assassination classroom don’t way but thought it would be interesting

  2. You know it’s actually really disappointing the thermal katana is no where to be found in game even though we had video of it in action in the trailer. Honestly feels like we got cheated out of some content I was under the impression we were gonna have but maybe it’ll come in future updates or DLCs, maybe it’s just so well hidden nobody has found it yet we’ll see. I’m also pretty disappointed in the level of weapon customization we got, in the tools of destruction video I was convinced we’d be able to modify them with more detail like the stock and barrel, didn’t really expect us to only be able to put scopes on most guns and maybe a barrel attachment. I was also told we’d be able to customize things like the color of our weapons, and choose clothes for a good looking outfit while having a different set of the best rated gear for armor underneath that isn’t visible (Like terraria armor/vanity) but I guess that was false too.

  4. Katana also makes for a good netrunner build if you want to switch out cool perks and have more crowd control options. Like shutting off weapons, using short circuit for burst damage/ range or using ping to figure out where everything is.

A strong attack to the head is a really solid stealth option, to the point where I don't even crouch when infiltrating anymore. Even if they don't die there's usually a window for 1 more heavy and a light attack which should finish the job.

  5. IM LOVING THIS BUILD.
I restarted, went to very hard mode. holy heck this build just…. shreds….
i will say one small criticism, act 1 heist scenario takes away your katana…..
its like…. crippling separation anxiety after you get plunged into combat.

  7. I suggest making a Corpo Predator build with the stealth and the Mantis blades next. Souds like a nice opposite compared to the Nomad Samurai (I know you called it street samurai but I like the sound of Nomad Samurai better >:D ). For the middle between them I think a Streetkid Hack n' Smash build with the hammer and hacking abilities

  8. Here’s what I run, it’s basically a tanky blades build.
Epic “Black Unicorn” Katana – This can have higher damage than a legendary if you craft it.
20 Body – for maximum health, also pump as many health regen and damage resistance perks.
20 Reflex – Get lots of blades perks, especially the ones that buff single hot damage, like +50% damage after dodging and +50% Heavy attack damage, also get perks that allow you to regen after kills
9 Cool – stacking cold blooded is really op, get perks that help with damage and health regen
12(I think) Technical ability – to craft epic items so you can keep your iconic items high level
