  1. That grainy shading on surfaces is the built in Temporal antialiasing interacting with the badly implemented screenspace reflections in this game. I get it a lot on PC without raytracing enabled, even after this patch.

  2. Played the game this morning, also on the pro, and it was evident from the get go that game was much improved. I did find some issues with rendering and pop ins. I restarted the game and I experienced the first issue with ‘scavenger van attack” – the van doors wouldn’t open and the guns were popping out the back. Next was going to the hotel for the first time, as we were driving into the underground parking the building slowly rendered around us. Apart from these minor issues I found the game so far very playable. Hopefully, by the time we get to the next patch (Feb sometime) more of these annoying bugs and issues with the police and npc’s response will be a thing of the past. Fair play to CDProjekt Red – I only wish that they had the balls to delay the game for a few more months to fix the issues that we have experienced but money talks especially for investors and management.

  3. oscar an external ssd will solve all the texture pop in problems and laggy audio. The hdd in old gen systems are just not fast enough for all the things streaming in this game. I picked up a samsung t7 500gb ssd and game runs even better, no texture pop in or delayed combat music and load times are very quick. If your on a ps4 pro its worth the investment and im just gonna use it for extra storage space when im able to get a ps5. It was as simple as plugging it in to the controller port and copying the game over. here is the ssd for anyone interested https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Portable-SSD-500GB-MU-PC500T/dp/B0874YS2N7

  5. Yeah so I pre ordered this game back last year. I haven’t installed it yet on my PS4 pro, planning to wait for the Feb patch. But if this is the rate of improvement, then I’m sure the Feb patch will make things really really better. Great video man, I’m gonna sub to you now.

  6. Glad to hear it's better on ps4 pro.

I'm on ps5 and feel bad for those on the ps4. CDPR are slowly showing they can make things right.

I still would not suggest anyone preorder their next game unless they can handle the jank that comes with open world rpgs. Witcher 3 was also a bit of a disaster at launch, which they fixed after a few patches.

  7. So I'm playing on PC right, just one question what the hell is up with the ammo enemies have when you kill the them? It never changes my ammo count when I pick it up

  8. Patch has done nothing! Slightly improved performance at the expense of texture and asset streaming. Playing on PS4 pro and it just doesn't have the memory bandwidth or cpu to handle the game. I'm glad you are enjoying the game fella -in my experience it's still an absolute mess. I don't necessarily think the pro is underpowered (although it really is ) – just a poorly optimized and bloated engine.

  9. The pop-in and slow loading textures is still atrocious and for me completely ruins the experience on PS4 Pro. Yeah its better but its been a month since this game has been out and its still an ugly mess. Only thru the most optimistic and forgiving eyes can anyone feel this game is in a reasonable state.

  10. It’s nice to hear someone not crapping on the game for a change. I have it on PS4 Pro and straight away I noticed it was smoother. Yes there’s some lighting issues occasionally and texture pop in is more noticeable now on pro but it shows they’re on the case of fixing it. I have a 1tb SSHD hybrid drive so its a bit quicker than normal HDDs but it’s nice to see it better all round. Most people complaining have probably never maintained their system and have full hard drives.
Oh and I just started a new game and the campaign now feels much better! I had a hard time caring about it on first run but now I’m enjoying the characters more, especially Jackie now he doesn’t keep walking through things! 😂

  11. Sadly I found things to get worse with the update on my PS4 Pro. Combat lagged to hell. Weapons graphics werent loading when I switched weapons and I can no longer sneak up and grab people. Worse of all I'm stuck on a phone call where the person won't speak so the call never finishes. It's so frustrating as I had virtually no problems on the previous version.

  12. Don’t have the game yet but really like your videos! You go in great detail and it helps a lot. I was hoping for the game to get more stable and they’re on the right path! Enjoying your vids!
I don’t know how much work it is but it would also be cool if you could do like a side by side comparison or a switch between scenes from your older videos to the new patches so we can see how big the changes are (like with the specular stuff).

  13. I'm playing 1.1 right now, and I have to say, things are much better. Even though there are still a metric fuckload of bugs, flickering, pop-ins, the game is very much playable. I would have given the game a score of 4/10 at release at best, now it is a solid 7. Unfortunately, the patch does not help the fact that the AI is atrocious and the world is empty, but at least now there is some enjoyment to be had. I cannot fathom why they decided not to delay for another month. Had they decided to do do, and released the game in this state, the bulk of the backlash could have been avoided.
