That is perfect. That should be similar to what happens in the Heist when the hostess tries to call Yarinobu if you don't intervene. There your choice has no impact on outcome. More cyberpunk situations need to be like this. Even better if they were not do or instant death but led to other situations down the line.
One of the funny things in this sequence if you have any type of one hit kill cheat on and you kill the assassins before a certain point the game kills you anyway.

Started second story, nomad, previous was corpo, and I'm fucking disappointed. Only difference is the first five minutes of the game.
