On this week’s episode of IGN’s weekly PlayStation show, Podcast Beyond!, host Jonathon Dornbush is joined by Brian Altano, Max Scoville, and Tom Marks to discuss Tom’s Cyberpunk 2077 review (and it’s all spoiler free!). We dive into his thoughts on the world design, freedom of choice, gameplay, and more. (Note, Tom played on PC, but since the game is also coming to PS4 and PS5, we wanted to get all his thoughts about what he played on the show as soon as we could!)
Plus, we talk a bit about Persona 5 Strikers coming to the west, the future of BioWare, and more! And yes, Max finally gets to talk about how much he enjoys Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a bust really sucks the hype wasn't worth it
Amazing that if this was a Bethesda or Ubisoft game it would get buried…CDPR certainly has bought themselves some credit.
Excited Neil directing/ writing for ND still
I downloaded the game on PS4 and i might wait until Jan to play it when they send these patches through.
Man I just love Tom and his reviews so much!

just so folks knows the true fact. microsoft denied cross play when sony first brought up the ideal. so the fact microsoft came around and asking sony to and they said hell naw at first. can you blame em but glad things are in motion and every game is starting to have it.

You don't need to speculate – it's obvious. Of course they didn't let show buggy footage, or let anyone play or see the PS4 era game because it was an unplayable mess (especially on last gen). Let's not pretend that they didn't know how buggy the game was, or how bad the graphics were on the PS4 (etc).
Maybe incorrectly but I would hope that giant outlets like IGN would be more on the side of the consumer than the developer. Sure you won't get all those views on day 1, but maybe, just maybe, holding out to show your own footage and all the bugs would be wise?
Is IGN reviewing the game on last/current gen consoles or are you only putting forward a PC review?
Lucy O’Brien’s face is revolting.
