Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One on 10 December 2020, and will come out for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021. The story takes place in Night City, an open world set in the Cyberpunk universe. Players assume the first-person perspective of a customisable mercenary known as V, who can acquire skills in hacking and machinery with options for melee and ranged combat.

Cyberpunk 2077 was developed using the REDengine 4 by a team of around 500 people, exceeding the number that worked on the studio’s previous game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015). CD Projekt launched a new division in Wrocław, Poland, and partnered with Digital Scapes, Nvidia, QLOC, and Jali Research to aid the production. Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith was a consultant, and actor Keanu Reeves has a starring role. The original score was led by Marcin Przybyłowicz, featuring the contributions of several licensed artists.

Cyberpunk 2077 received critical acclaim by critics reviewing the PC version, with praise for its narrative, setting, and graphics, although some gameplay elements and technical issues received criticism at launch.

  1. what this should've been is Mankind Divided on steroids. 1) small, semi open-world areas per act but with more fleshed-out side quests and characters. 2) no life paths but deeper more substantial modifications (like MD). 3) no crafting but instead a deeply modifiable fixed set of special weapons (like doom eternal); also fixed but modifiable armor pieces (and transmog!!!). 3) again, no specific life-path dialogues, but instead more meaningful choice-heavy main story and side quests. cdpr wasted so many resources into radio stations, open world elements, and life path dialogue choices. this should've been streamlined instead of trying to be a cyberpunk gta v.

  2. IMO the biggest problem with this game is the gimmicky builds and super exploitable combat mechanics.

You kinda feel like you’re handicapping yourself for even engaging in combat when you could just ping an enemy, run away, and safely wipe the entire building by shooting everyone through 5 different walls with a tech weapon.

And if you’re playing on harder difficulties… it feels like the combat style you have to use.

  3. Cyberpunk 2077: not the great follow up to the Witcher 3, but a pretty janky but satisfying successor to Vampire Bloodlines. A sleazy, excellently written RPG that tried to cover the full immersive sim spectrum, yet failed and ended up and odd yet charming hybrid of GTA and OG Deus Ex.

  4. This release is an embarrassment, CDPR should be ashamed. Did not deserve their EOY bonuses.
And if CP isn't remembered as another Fallout '76 in half a year's time I'll eat my own dick.
The game's not good. I have faith people will realize this.

  5. I feel so lucky that my experience hasn't had been that buggy, but I'm definitely biased because my favorite genre is cyberpunk. This game has delivered on that itch so much

  6. The amount of potential wasted on this game is mindblowing. If they reduced the mindless mission spam and converted the intro video into actual gameplay they could have easly gained alot of value. What is there is great, but it just feels so short. Decent game tho.

  8. People who dislike the video are just straight up brainless fanboys. lmao. Anyone with a decent brain could easily comprehend the fact that, this game was a rushed, unfinished, below 2020's standard product. Everything beside the story (which is decent) in this game was a total mess. both technical and gameplay aspect. There's no interaction with NPCs whatsoever like they promised. The world was beautifully crafted. however, the NPCs are straight up garbage, like a 2005 NPCs. This isn't on par with the quality of Rdr2. Honestly. This game is a total disappointment.
