I finally played Outriders. Things are looking pretty ok from my end, but definitely some things I would like to see made better. Here are my thoughts on the game and on the demo.

console player here, I played on ps4 slim and it ran fine, controls were good think division 2, sensitivity was a little too high but turning it down to 4 was better. The actual gameplay, build and story are the same as pc so I won't talk about that but I liked it.
I see we are of the same mind when it comes to dogs, I used to own staffys myself assuming they are one
Although the game is not a live service, you still require internet to play it
Honestly I wouldn't compare this game to a Destiny or a Division more than I would a Borderlands or Diablo. Considering the fact it isn't live service and seems like it takes much more from those game than a Destiny type.

I hate that I can't turn off the motion blur while sprinting on pc, it hurts my eyes a bunch
My best example was Mass Effect but faster, including some of the jank. Which is fine and fun!
If you play destiny, there is no way you can crap on this game. The demo us more entertaining than the last 8 years of destiny

I heard about the game at E3, and having been a huge fan of People Can Fly from my time playing Painkiller way back in the day, I was super pumped, though I didn't know much other than that it was going to be a looter shooter. At first, I was like Datto in that I shrugged at the prospect of ANOTHER LOOTER SHOOTER IN THE MARKET. I entered in with mild expectations and was incredibly surprised by how much fun I had with it. I really do like how your abilities are tied to your build, and how fast they recharge. And the skill tree! Oh, to see a proper skill tree and not a skill column or a skill box was so refreshing to see. Sure, most of the perks in the trees are kinda meh, but I'm glad they actually created one.
I was also super happy to see that the perks on your armor/weapons are tied to your class instead of tied to gunplay like in Destiny (for the most part, anyway,) with some weapon perks benefiting your class in big ways. On my Pyromancer, I found a gun that increased the leech I receive when I kill an enemy, and one that spreads a status on to nearby enemies if hit, and I was having the time of my life! I actually went out of my way to see the video Datto mentioned about the end-game for Outriders and I'm even more excited about Outriders than I was before!
I would argue that cover is more for enemies than the player
I would say it reminds me almost like if mass effect 1 was done in modern times.

Considering the Dev Team has about a month to make a few hotfixes and patches, im going to pass on the pre-order. I’m on PS4, and the lip sync for me was having issues. Also lots of texture pop-ins, and cutscenes were funny when the character’s hair behave like there’s F5 Tornado nearby. Gameplay is enjoyable though, although when playing in certain areas i noticed you can bug out the A.I. by backing up to the spawn point and they stand there menacingly not doing anything. Overall, story is average, gameplay is exceptional, but patches need to be done here and there. I will be keeping my eye on this game through its launch week and months ahead. 6/10 for Demo

It looks more like gears of war rather then other looter shooters. Almost kind of Mass effect meets Gears of War ish. If they could get their cover mechanics more like Gears it could feel better probably.

Not to throw shade at destiny but they really are addressing like every big major feature issue or quality-of-life issue that either took forever to be fixed in destiny or still has yet to arrive after seven years aaaaaand they’re letting us actually fight other people in the story that are human like us with powers.
I think the game plays best on console actually. Next Gen consoles to be specific. Then again it could just be that I felt it played better on controller.

Absolutely love Outriders and its (intentionally) corny/cliche writing.
Honestly hated the demo game wise. I prefer Destiny or Division 2 over this game. Definitely not buying
Cover is for cowards, it’s literally in the marketing only use the cover if you are extremely low on health. You heal by killing/dealing damage and by using ability’s. It’s a little bit of a learning curve to not use it if you are coming from the division. If you are behind cover for to long the games AI will through get explosives at you or flank you.

This game feels more like Remnants From the Ashes in a sense where you buy the game, play it, play with others and so on. Complete from the get go. Not perfect but not broken. I might get this maybe later on the year. Haven’t decided if I wanna play it on PC or Xbox but am glad cross play is available. Cross save would be nice.
In terms of post game content, the devs have said they will do DLC if there is a demand for it. Their priority now was getting the game completed and in your hands, but if it's popular enough and people want it, they'll do dlc. They also said they would not abandon this game post launch.
Hey, completely unrelated question/inquiry: What exactly makes Destiny's gunplay so good? I know its good, that's an obvious given, but I don't know WHY its so good. Thoughts anyone?

The game has alot of issues but i really enjoyed it and think it will be a decent game, not great but decent. A game that you play for like 30 hours or so and maybe move on. To be honest i think we need a game like this, somewhat short and it doesnt take itself to seriously. Not to mention there arent any microtransactions or live service crap.
Is that other game youre familiar with anthem Datto? Or perhaps Division? 😛

I found the gameplay the worst aspect of the entire experience
generic as it gets with some remarkably pitiful full-auto wepaons in terms of both accuracy and damage.
bolt-action headshots was the only time I felt like the weapons were doing a damned thing.
