  1. Otaku, It looks like you have made a mistake when calculating what you need to power a thermal power generator. Nilaus has calculated that it is 1 coal per second. The generator produces 2.16 MW of power at 80% efficiency, thus it needs 2.7MJ/s which is equivalent to 1 coal.

  2. 2:20:00 THANK YOU, I have seen so many people blindly assuming that turning coal into graphite was a net positive. But they never seem to take into consideration the power required for the conversion. Also don't forget about the power draw from the inserters, if I remember correctly it ends up exactly breaking even. The only possible benefits I can imagine would be belt compression, and the fact that graphite is used in more recipes than coal.

    Also each ore node is 30/min, though I'm sure you figured that out.
