Today we’re gonna be playing Dyson Sphere Program! It looks a good bit like Factorio in 3d! Let us organize some spaghetti conveyer belts.

Hello
oh look, it's factorio
Agreed. There’s a ton of empty space on that research screen and the text is laughably small
Wafflesthedog is absolutely right. Ace pineapple cider is super good.
: Is the planet really smoll or are teh buildings like really really huge?
That tutorial robot feels like it was originally programmed in Chinese and then just run through Google Translate.
Right at 33:20 look at his face, can almost feel the wonder coming from him.
I thought this was a vacuum simulator
Oh cool, I was hoping Day9 would stream Factorio again!
I know I’m a day late but please listen to honey bunches of oats. It’s 3:2
In your calculation you missed the last step where you compare x coils per 3 sec to y copper per 6 seconds
I've always struggled to get into games like this. The strategy games, management sims, or automation whatevers. I find myself getting super overwhelmed by how much there is to do, and all the possible ways there is to do it. That said, I really enjoyed watching this, seeing someone who kinda knows what they're doing, and it really makes me want to try again. Thanks, Day9.
Do the sorters work from a raised belt that is not immediately adjacent? Like one that is one level up and two tiles away?
First of all, building a Dyson Sphere (in the sense of a single, solid megastructure) < building a Dyson SWARM (a cloud of millions of unconnected satellites, solar mirrors, and orbiting habitats). Indeed, the latter was the original meaning of the term "Dyson Sphere", before pop culture co-opted it for the much less useful solid structure.
Furthermore, if we're colonizing a star and building a Dyson Sphere around it, why are we setting foot on the planet at all? Why aren't we mining asteroids, so all the materials are in space to begin with?
This game gives me Isaac Arthur conniptions.
Sean would have a fit if he saw how disorganised my first planet is. Just squished things in with about a billion conveyors all over the place.
Day9, bro. You alright?
"DSP"?
That's… an unfortunate acronym.
Or I dunno, maybe DSP has faded away from everyone's memory by now.
No shit haha, this popped ip in my queue yesterday, i looked at it and said, “not my thing, but i would love to see Day[9] play this”
Day9: Computes ratios
Me: Eh fuck it, 4 smelters followed by 4 assemblers seems good
"Im gonna do everything the game tells me and we are gonna have a chill friday"
"your building needs power, you should build a…"
"SHUT UP I knowwww"
I need to get me one of those t-shirts, cool AF!
A little off topic but check in google images fraze "Francisco de Zurbarán, Saint Thomas Aquinas" and tell me this guy doesn't looks like Day9! 😀
Looks interesting. Curious how well the computer behaves once we get to our factorio mega base sizes given its all 3D. Since much of this seems to be 1:1 (heavily influenced and quisi stolen) to factorio down to the research colers, I'm guessing it will be fine???
