You must have played a lot of lego games to make that many comparisons because I seriously don't see it and never really did when I played this, and this is coming from someone who's played many lego games. Many of these types of games have random battle encounters. It plays more like many several social/combat JRPGs like Persona 5/Strikers and that new Y's game that released a couple months back
