IT’S FINALLY HERE!

This cover’s been brewing for the past 2 – 3 weeks and now it’s finally come into reality for everyone to be able to enjoy!

I am so excited that this finally gets to come out and I hope you all enjoy it just as much as I did when making all of it!

Friday Night Funkin’ is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.

The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn’t approve of him. It’s up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?

Friday Night Funkin’ is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates.     Backstory: After there encounter with eddsworld they decided to spend some time with them at the literary club but what the didn't know is libitina was secretly hiding behind them waiting to strike.
    Monika: Guys i feel something is up but I think we should show our friend's our singing.
    The other doki girls and bf: Why not?
    Sayori: I think monika might be right but this is so much fun.
    Bf: I remember doing this before but it was a long time ago.
    Sayori: Really? I don't remember you doing it with us.
    Bf: No not with you girls I think it was with imposter V4.
    Sayori: I think me and the others saw you do that you saw a lot didn't you.
    Bf: I did but I feel someone is in our presence but it's strange they don't feel like you girls they feel like code.
    Sayori: What is that?
    Libitina appears
    Libitina: Well hello bf I have been watching you sing for a long time but i think you've messed with the code for too long.
    Bf: What! When did i mess with the code i did nothing!
    Libitina: With your singing the code of the game broke but since I'm in a good mood how bout this.
    Bf: What is it i don't want to leave the doki girls.
    Libitina: If you can beat me I'll let you be but if you lose you and your gf _MUST__LEAVE_THIS__GAME_FOREVER!
    Bf: Deal!
    Libitina: Time to change we will see eachother soon.
    Natsuki's part
    Natsuki: Bf what happened you disappeared and now your back how?
    Bf: I don't want to say but let's continue.
    Natsuki: hmph.
    Bf: Seriously what do i have to do to get to you?
    Natsuki: Then tell me what happened to you.
    Bf: Fine. Libitina came and said if I lose I have to leave you guys with gf.
    All doki girls: WHAT!
    Libitina grabs bf with her hand.
    Doki girls: BF!
    Bf: Why did you grab me!?
    Libitina: You told the doki girls about the deal we did and now you will be punished!
    Bf: Really I've dealt with a lot of stuff but nothing scares me.
    Libitina: Really?
    Libitina makes gf disappear
    Bf: GF!
    Libitina: Now I'll drop you into the 3 part be prepared.
    Bf: Fine.
    Yuri's part
    Yuri: Let me sing ever lyric trapped in my sick head.
    Bf: Again with this yuri. When you stop doing this?
    Yuri: NEVER!
    Bf: Fine if you're not going to stop neither will I.
    Monika tries to turn yuri back
    Bf: Monika!
    Monika: Don't worry I'll help turn her back to help.
    Yuri: NO I WILL NOT GO BACK! LIBITINA AND I ARE THE SAME!
    Monika: Never say THAT!
    Bf: Monika do you know who she is?
    Monika: Sigh yes i do but not right now.
    Monika: Senpai!
    Senpai: Yes its me it's been a while since we talked.
    Monika: But why now I was just talking with bf.
    Senpai: Oh? Tell me what's happening.
    Monika and senpai start to talk about what's happening.
    Senpai: I see well tell me when i can help.
    Monika: I will.
    Gf: Well I don't know what happened here and don't know why I was out of the game.
    Bf and monika: Neither do we!
    Gf: Are the doki girls okay?
    Monika and bf: Well yes sayori and natsuki are good but yuri is not.
    Gf: Well Bf you ready to sing together.
    Bf: Yep!
    Sayori: Hey bf and gf how are you?
    Bf and Gf: Great how are you!

    Gf: So your libitina you will pay for what you did.
    Libitina: No I will not lose to you and the others.
    Gf: Everything you did you will never stop us even apart we will not lose because we will be together in heart.
    Bf: Good words gf she's right libitina you did so much and you can't get away with this.
    Protagonist: I don't know if these words are true.
    Sayori: They are protagonist
    Natsuki: We will always be on your side.
    Yuri: Even apart we will always be together.
    Monika: Nothing can stop us.
    Protagonist: Thanks girl's Bf let's end this.
    Bf: Yeah lets do it.
    Libitina: I won't lose not now not EVER!
    Protagonist: But you already did you can't stop it.
    Libitina: I will erase you 2 from existence!
    Bf: No you won't
    Sayori and Bf: Because we have eachother.
    Natsuki and Bf: We have had so much so we can't lose this.
    Yuri and Bf: Singing makes us happy and we will never stop.
    Monika and Bf: Except it libitina you lost no way out of this!

  9. Gotta say, I was NOT expecting ANY of what this cover turned out to be, but I absolutely loved every second of it! I also love how you turned this into its own little story thing instead of just a generic The Fighters cover! Instant like from me! In short, way to subvert expectations in the best way possible! Instant like from me!

    Here's my version of the story for this cover!

    It was another normal day in the club.

    It has been a while since the Indie Squad left for a vacation.

    The end of the school year was near and the Literature Club wanted to sing a special song to end it. They wanted an iconic one, one that many people can recognize instantly, but slightly different.

    Eventually, Sayori got an idea.

    Sayori:Four-Way-Fracture!

    Monika:Didn't we already do that?

    Sayori:Yeah, but there's no Indie Squad here! We could do our own, without the intermission of the Indie Squad!

    Natsuki:Yeah, we didn't really get to sing it us alone.

    Yuri:And you weren't even present, MC.

    MC:I truly missed a lot…

    Monika:Alright! Then it's settled! The song will be Four-Way-Fracture, a Triple Trouble Remix by Nominal Dingus.

    BF:Beep bop ski!(Which is still his most popular song!)

    Sayori:Alright! Let's get started! It's time to share a poem! The best musical poem ever made!

    Until…

    A computer window appeared

    The Admin Tab automatically popped up to Monika's face
    She couldn't believe it…something managed to breach into the game's code
    This code seemed really similar to Yuri's code

    Everyone kept staring at the window, wondering why it was there

    A giant hand came out of the window, then it grabbed the same window and revealed a woman
    Suddenly, the world and the Admin Tab started to get corrupted
    Everything was falling apart

    Natsuki's Nightmare form suddenly activated
    Natsuki:What- what the hell is going on?!? I can't control it!!

    Sayori started glitching out
    Sayori:AHH!! HELP ME!! IT- It hurts so much…
    Sayori collapsed to the floor

    MC:SAYORI NO!!

    Monika started panicking
    Monika:O-oh no! Not this corruption stuff again! And this time it's a lot worse, the Admin Tab is going crazy!!

    BF:Beep boop bap ski doo beep bep!(We probably have to take down that woman to stop it!)

    MC:Wait, where's Yuri?

    Yuri: Menacing laughter

    Everyone turned around and saw Yuri. Crazy look, knife in her hand, glitching out…She was out of control once again

    MC: Vietnam flashbacks to that weekend in Act 2

    Monika:Oh no…

    BF:Beep bop bee ski! Doop bap doo beep dap!(Monika, try to bring Yuri back to normal! I'll handle that woman!)

    Monika:Right! MC, stand back!

    MC:Okay!
    Looks at BF
    Good luck.

    BF nods and then runs towards the woman

    But someone stops him

    Natsuki:Don't you dare touch Madam Libitina.

    BF:B-beep? Boop ski dap beep?(W-what? Are you okay, Natsuki?)

    Natsuki attacked BF, a strong punch in the face
    BF understood the situation, this "Libitina" has brainwashed Natsuki and she's now out of control
    BF smirked, he faced bigger and badder than a Nightmare Natsuki. He challenged the Indie Trio in Nightmare form at the same time in Crossed Out, Shaggy Rogers, LITERAL GODS and survived. A Nightmare Natsuki is clearly not enough to take him down

    BF:Beep bop ski deep? Bap doo ski bop!(Alright, you wanna brawl? Then let's dance!)

    Natsuki:Let's just get this over with…SO I CAN TEAR YOU APART

    They charge after each other

    Meanwhile…

    Monika was trying to stop Yuri. Monika stayed on the defense, trying to put some sense into Yuri whilst dodging and trying to fix her character code

    Monika:Yuri! Can't you see that you're being used?!? You're just a tool to her! Please stop before it's too late!

    Yuri:WHO CARES IF I'M JUST A TOOL?!?!? MADAM LIBITINA CAN USE ME ALL SHE WANTS, I WILL STAY LOYAL TO HER!!

    Monika:(Damn it, it's no use. This Libitina really knows how to brainwash people.) Alright, you leave me no choice but to fight.

    Yuri:VERY WELL THEN. IF THIS IS HOW IT'S GOING TO END, I'LL KEEP YOU HERE FOR AS LONG AS I CAN!!

    Before she was able to charge at Monika, Yuri got hit by a tray

    Yuri:WHAT?!?

    Sayori was glitching and suffering, but she was still standing

    Monika:Sayori! Thank God you're fine!

    MC, watching in the distance:Phew…Thank God…

    Sayori:Leave…her…ALONE!!

    Yuri:HOW ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?!? YOU SHOULD BE DEAD!

    Sayori:I have suffered…so much in my life…both mentally…and physically…i literally hanged myself…MY BODY MAY FALL, BUT MY DETERMINATION WILL NEVER DIE!!

    Yuri then gets hit by a microphone

    BF was standing next to Natsuki, who snapped out of her Nightmare form

    Natsuki:You're done for, Yuri!

    Monika:Give up! You cannot take us all at once!

    Yuri laughed
    Yuri:You should be a bit more careful…you don't want someone to stab you in the BACK, right?

    Everyone turned around and noticed Libitina holding a damaged MC

    Sayori:MC!! NO!!

    BF:Beep bop! Ski doop beep bap boop!(Damn it! We didn't notice her!)

    Libitina raises her hand and messes with reality once again
    Monika gets teleported to a different place where she sees a screen glitching out

    ???:H-hello?

    Monika immediately recognizes the voice

    Monika:Sen…?

    Senpai:Monika! We meet once more, i won't let this chance-

    Monika:Stop it! Listen to me for a minute! My entire world is collapsing and we need help! Can you put your flirting aside and help us, please?

    Senpai:O-oh…i see. Yeah, by looking at this "Admin Tab" it's clear something's wrong. Alright, M'lady-

    Monika:Do not call me that.

    Senpai: Sigh Alright. I will help you if you could just gently bring me to your game please.

    Monika:Consider it done.
    The Admin Tab was still messy, but Monika was able to use the commands easily

    Senpai:My, my…this is…insane.

    Monika:I know, right? I hate to see everything all over the place like this. Even i can't even keep up.

    A portal opened before their eyes

    BF:Beep!(Heya!)
    GF: Happy gesture (Sorry if i'm late, i was busy talking to my father.)

    Monika:What? Oh! It's you two! How glad i am to see you!

    Senpai looked at BF and GF with an angry yet confused face

    Monika:Y-yeah…you're gonna need to collaborate…

    Senpai:Tch. I guess i'll let this one slide.

    GF: Determined Gesture (Alright, let's gather everyone up!)
    GF opened a portal to the others' location
