Zombie games have been a staple of the gaming industry and some of the most prominent titles have decomposed into obscurity with the absence of Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising leaving fans wanting more zombie killing in their video games. Two stand out titles, Dead Island and Dying Light, very similar games, have only seemed to be plagued with development issues, delays and close cancellations. Dead Island’s true sequel and Dying Lights sequel are set to come out in the next year, but you’d be shocked to see why these two corpses have not risen from the dirt.

  1. I remember when Dead Island 2 developer build got leaked and you could actually play it. There is no way Dead Island 2 is in development. It can’t be innovative enough to be in development for 7 years. Longer development time than RDR2.

  2. Love dead island. I'm probably a small portion but man that game looked so good at the time and had a blast playing through it with my friends. I know there were misleading things, but the game was fun. Hope Dead island 2 is pretty darn good

  3. This does my head in, the developers know what they can and can not work with! Management should listen and stop interfering and let these artists just create. It’s always the higher ups that end up ruining games and putting stress on the developers 😡

  4. As a designer, if the tools are garbage and there isn’t a singular design direction this always spells a disaster. If the studio heads, producer and directors are not on the same page this is a death blow for the entire team and the project. The developers are only as good as the tools they have to work with.

  5. One of the reasons I don't want MS to invest or get near to this developer. Too many issues, too many internal problems and bad management. Yes, the first game was great, but I think there are better devs and places to invest in.

  6. I can totally relate even though Im im a different industry. The company I work for changed hands and the new management was terrible. They were micro managing everything and trying to write people up for the smallest of infractions despite increasing workload by a lot. We are union though so after a couple of years of grievances they backed off. Now everyone works hard the place runs well and we have a goid work environment.

  7. Acquiring Techland would be a future venture for sure, new management would definitely help them and stick with a reliable engine, Unreal Engine! and deliver the game.
