Diablo 2 Resurrected Alpha vs Diablo 2 Gameplay Comparison

With the technical alpha for Diablo II Resurrected finally arriving we compare the new remastered version with the original. In this clip we show off different parts of Act 1 as a Sorceress.

The technical alpha for Diablo 2 Resurrected is available for the few who have access to it via Battle.net on PC. One of its key features is the ability to seamlessly switch between the new overhauled graphics and the original visual style on the fly with a keystroke. In going between the enhanced HD visuals in 16:9 widescreen and the old-school look in 4:3 aspect ratio, you realize how much Diablo 2 has aged, and you can see exactly how in the video above.

Gameplay was captured on PC using the ability to swap visual style in the same instance. You’ll see the redone assets, updated animations, and silky smooth frame rate when using the Resurrected visual mode. But since both versions of the game exist simultaneously, the core gameplay experience remains intact. Other than a revamped user interface and a few quality of life changes, Diablo 2 Resurrected will play exactly as you remember it from all those years ago. It’s evident in the Sorceress gameplay in the video above with all the familiar mechanics and systems that made Diablo 2 a classic RPG.

Diablo 2 Resurrected is scheduled to release sometime in 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch. Blizzard has a beta phase planned before launch as well, so more people will be able to get a chance to try this remaster.

  2. there is nothing left of the Blizzards, there is nothing left of the old spirit of the game…, from the amazon made a masculine hero, the image has lost the original femininity, dev freaks, remake = peace of shit, I will not buy and do not advise you

  3. So wait they can’t show the SORCERESS underb++b anymore and made her fat instead of skinny and now having the AMAZON looking like a 40 year old man instead of a FEMALE Amazon in her early 20’s anymore.
BUT we still can see the Barbarian whole shirtless (no muscles anymore in the remastered version) body still… like WHAT?! 🤦🏾‍♂️

  4. The remake adds so much more details. As you can see at 1:45, the Fallen Shaman's fire bolt is much more smaller than Sorceress's Fire Bolt, like a mini version of it. While in the original both Fire Bolts are the same.

  5. At least Diablo 2 😀 , btw for all the company's out there if in this time you only need money and you can't create another best game out there , if you have a brain down for the last 10 yrs or so… just remake the old gems like Diablo 1/2 , Fallout and so on… if you become a shit . At least the devs from Resident Evil did a wonderful job with the franchise and they didn't let us down. Diablo 1 and 2 was the best game of that year / and the hole planet where waiting for Diablo 3 old players and when they release it was… nea.. i will wait for the remaster :>

  6. I don't know if it's me but sometimes the classic version looks better than the remake… So why they do a remake, when the older version is still better? Is it all about the cashcow?
