Did Minecraft Steve Just BREAK Super Smash Bros?

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players have discovered a new Minecraft Steve technique that changes the competitive landscape, leading to Steve bans around the world. While Steve has always been one of the best Super Smash Bros. characters by a landslide, this new tech feels like an unfair advantage that gives Steve players a step up in the game.

When Minecraft Steve was first introduced into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, he was an obvious outlier compared to the rest of the roster. From his ability to build to his absolutely insane combos, Steve was always one of the major characters people hoped would get banned from tournaments. Will this new tech lead to that?

  1. TBH, I don't really care that much for the competitive tournament Smash landscape. I have respect for it and all, but I don't play Smash Bros for the competitiveness of it all (At least not entirely). I play the game for the intense collaborations and crazy fighter combinations (E.G., Mario fighting Sonic in Minecraft, etc.).

  2. If you’re going to ban Steve from tournaments might as well ban fox, King K tool, and other annoying characters. If that happens, then the tournaments will feel bland.
