Today we are going over the recent Digital Foundry comparison for Control Ultimate Edition for the Ps5 and Xbox Series X and it has led to some weird flexes being made here. Apparently the Xbox Series X advantage reveals itself but only in photo mode and this has lead to Xbox fans jumping to the conclusion that the PlayStation is significantly inferior. There are a few important things to note that really make it seem like this is now the way you want to be touting your power advantage.

  1. Look, I will have no problem if we see some games where there is an Xbox Series X advantage but this is just weird to me. Not the actual comparison itself, but the way some Xbox fans are running with it. We need to understand that a photo mode comparison being used as a "benchmark" isn't going to tell the whole story, maybe for the graphical side of things…but that's about it. Some are trying to make it sound like Sony stopped Remedy from unlocking the "full power" of the SX but if that's true then how do we explain all the other third party games running on these new consoles? Anyway the results are interesting but not something you would want to refer to for meaningful data that could potentially influence your buying decision.

  2. I find it odd how DF didn't notice how much more defined the PS5 was in those side by side comparisons… King Thrash pointed that out and im surprised no one else caught that. XSX had less detail in all of those comparisons

  3. What is Df doing this can not be a bench mark in a bench mark every thing has to be exactly the same and for fuck sack the visuals are not the same ! The visuals and partials are different in all senses close but still not the same so most it could be is a comparison with the meaning of nothing ! And they Dam well know it !

  4. Both consoles runs ray-traced mode in 1440P, what Digital Foundy concluded is that XSX could probably have a stable 60FPS in 1080P, but the PS5 might not be able to. This video was all hypothetical and just a way to show any difference as XSX and PS5 locks to 30FPS in graphics/ray-traced mode. They where very clear on it not being gameplay.

  5. Didn't Mark Cerny said that the PS5 throttles the GPU with smart shift based on when the game needs it in order for the PS5 to keep cool? This should explain why the fps drops in photo mode. Bingo!

  6. Grow up. You just dislike anything that doesn’t run with your fanboy narrative. You have no technical understanding of either console- none. You just recycle anything which fits your particular agenda. It’s astonishing peiole don’t see you for what you are. You’re just lucky there’s fanboys on either side of the coin which will give your crap content traffic.

    Grow up.

  7. You mean the way sony fans hyped up an ssd with a lacking cpu and gpu compared to series x yet most load times on multiplatform games are faster in series x. Ya weird flex 😂

  8. Photo mode is framerate unlocked, details are increased and is only intensive on gpu. If one gets more than the other then it is more powerful and has much more potential. That’s why it is interesting because ps5 has the benefit of a devkit that is close to ps4 one and because the games showed are cross gen and not that heavy on gpu so it is easier to make them run great on less cu count and with more frequency. Next gen games will need more cu count and more bandwidth. Series x will shine more than ne more.

  9. So in truth the Series X is not just being held back by the Series X but it’s being held back by PS5. The developers are forcing parity and. It utilizing the power of each console individually. That stinks.

  10. Why you didnt say anything about how the game loaded faster on the series x? Where is the mágic ssd ? And the sx also killed the ps5 with hitman 3 you didnt mention that either

  11. Im a ps owner myself. But saying DF is biased towards MS is pretty lame. I get this channel is in favour of the ps5 so most of the people here are pretty biased themselves.
I found the 'benchmark' pretty interesting just on the GPU side. CPU is not stressed since in photomode there isn't alot going on for the CPU. So its pure GPU power. If Xbox is slightly stronger at that, WHO cares.
