  1. Distant Worlds 1 gave me some of the best memories in my computer gaming life and I've been gaming since the 80's. I got it in 2012 and the game just spoke directly to my imagination and I fell head over heels for it. I got to be in the youTube collaboration let's play with Das and Larry Monte. they called me "the Warmonger" rofl I was also in the Universe beta, which earned me a physical copy of DW Universe. I still have it unopened displayed with pride here at home. Aw man the memories keep flushing over me when I look at the gameplay in this video! And that's a good thing, cause it means this is going to be true to the beloved cult original, while also sufficiently modern and new to feel relevant! Definite pre-order from me!

  2. In the video warp technology was being researched right away, in DWU the technology had to be discovered through ruins first. Is this video played without that story event enabled or is it a permanent change?

  3. My one of many questions is: Had you made model colision available? Also is Construciot Ship still considered as military?
Reason – in DW1 i was upset by capture-constructing DeathStars in 2 aliens sectors, and when alien ships were stockpiling over my one in single pixel – that was anoying.

I would rather prefer ramming enemies away from my construction site.

  4. I actually kind of preferred the separate tech trees from the original. It allowed for intentional or unintentional specialization based on what bonuses you found. I'm sure this system will be fine though. Overall I'm impressed and extremely eager to play it!

Super glad they didn't dumb it down.

  5. I really hope this game and whole developement team best. I love Distant Worlds: Universe, I've bought it twice Steam and GOG. To this day I play it. You have whole galaxy to explore, not like in Stellaris only systems. You can litterally build sensor station or (better) shipyard that can help with war against further enemy near hostile territory, in empty space, park refuelling ships for attacking fleet in empty system or nebula so they can ressuply itself without going back to any home station.

You can park any ship or build station in any place in system or in vast space between systems. Nothing like "space lines" is limiting your travel, because in space there are no lines that connect systems. Your only limit is your warp drive technology and amount of fuel. You can build ships however you want, you can build your bases however you want. There is many more to say about this game, but this post is already long enough.

    Thank you Eric and Team.

  6. Im proper excited for this. I got into Distant Worlds late, but it is such a good game. If you guys can build on its good points and solve some of the quirks of the GUI and how hard it could be to read the data, this game will be THE best space 4x….Stellaris is amazing, but it needs to be worried!
