I did 3 playthrus by now and I just find grinding very tedious and pointless in this game. On my second playthru I did the O'five sniping at pacifica which was… okay because I didnt have to move much and it wipes out the entire pack in 1 or 2 hit. But even without grind everything can be done even on lower level so I prefer to just beeline towards the next broken gear.
I mean once you're done grinding youre gonna wanna start spending time getting nice things. So why not just go get it now.
Just playing the gane I git thw street cred cap at lol 30. And by the time you get to lvl 30- there really is no rush to power level anyways as you will have peak performace with almost any build- and thats non dedicated. I got all but one skill in handguns I need for a sidearm build, my assault skills are perfect, I can really mess with enemies using quickhacks/combat hacks- and can craft like a boss. All that is including the ability to shred if I want using mantis blades.
If I did a skill wipe at this point, it would be a waste of time to redistribute skills vs. keeping what I have.
There literally is no need to power level in cyberpunk. Even on very hard the enemies are dumb bullet sponges that die in one/two hits with Comrade's Hammer sidearm, anyways lol.
For the fun of it I killed the Cynorg Boss Lady- and she took 5 shots to down. 😛 LOL.
I think when people are saying "Just play the Game" they literally mean JUST PLAY THE GAME and enjoy it in its entended natrual progression. YouTube has LITERALLY sucked the enjoyment out of video games. It's not about just playing anymore, it's about reaching max level 2 seconds after starting the game by any means or "all item locations" vids sucking the excitement out of randomly finding good gear and world exploration. It wouldn't be so bad if it were months after release but these types of videos hit YouTube before the games even launch now, it's worse than trying to avoid spoilers for a new movie.
I just want to know what the benefits are to level fast? only thing i can see is that it allows you to equip a little better armor and weapons, after level 30 there is no real gain. I am at 45 and still using the rare iconic and/or legendary items i received up to level 28, my character is a tank and kill most anything pretty effortlessly . I upgraded my iconic and legendary items at level 32 and haven't touched them since, also playing on very hard. don't have an issue with it I just don't understand the benefits of it in THIS particular game, there are games where I can see its usefulness but not this one. to each there own though….
Soo by boring yourself stupid you can get somewhere around 4 times as many levels per hour as you would by playing the game as intended, getting in interesting and novel fights, getting loot, and exploring the world and all the story bits everywhere. Either you sit there and grind out levels killing the same dudes super fast being super bored or you can go everywhere and do everything and still be level 50 well before you're anywhere even close to done with the available content. I'm not saying I didn't grind the beach in Pacifica for an hour or so of my 100+ hr playthrough but that was at least a somewhat interesting combat challenge where I tried out different kinds of weapons on guys that could potentially kill me and I quit as soon as I got bored of it. The way you do it is more efficient, I'm sure, but it looks about as engaging as holding down the craft button upgrading crafting components for hours on end.
OK, so we start a new game, get out of prologue, then what should we do?
I don't want to grind to 50. I believe I should try to build up some eddies (like a mil just to not worry about money until we get a midgame source of money).
How many levels should we grind to land at 50 given certain playthroughs? How many levels to be at 50 by the time we meet Hanoko at Embers, just doing the main story quests? How many levels to grind to do all side missions and be at 50 before meeting Hanoko at Embers? How many levels to be at 50 by act2, including and excluding everything else?
You didn't compare it to the main jobs or side jobs… they give bigger experience… Also you haven't added into the fact that once you have power leveled you will then go and play the game anyway so why not just level as you play….
Can’t argue with numbers
That is interesting, but I prolly won't use it till after the 1st or second playthrough.
If you want to complete every activity for the trophy, just play the game. If that's not your goal, power level.
I can level to 50 in 6 hours for exp and cred and get 20 in most of my skills in a day
I haven’t even done the parade mission yet did all other story missions and doing side missions and legendary grinding for random legendarys i have all outfit legendarys i mean grinding for loot that isn’t normally legendary like gas masks or kabutos cuz i wanna have rare one of a kind legendary and im already level 50 max everything and have all wall stash weapons except for about 5 story weapons and i am having a blast
At $60, rushing through the game is like ordering an expensive dinner and wolfing it down as quickly as I do a $5 Taco Bell box.
But that's just me. I like a ROI and, for me, long playtime and/or replayability is that ROI.
In the future, if I just wanna rush things, I'll use a trainer for a new game + experience.
Once I hit level 15 I wanted to level grind. What's the point of having all the badass abilities for only the last few missions of a game?
Not a great loop tho your running back and forth with 2 parties. I found a place wear you look about 5 groups of enemies over and over again went from 43 – 48 in about 20 mins
I sasquatch exploited 20 levels in less than an hour yesterday. It took me 75 hours to get to level 30 playing side missions.
I think just play is better, after grinding at my 2nd playthrough I realised… Now that I'm done with the most Sidemission (the only locations I didn't hit for that are the central city and heywood, every other Sidemission is done) befor going to meet Takamura after prolog. I'm lvl 40 now and I think too that this is more then enough.
The only reason someone wants to max out before anything else is to get all the loot of this game at max lvl but that is not needed anyway as long tech is decided to go for good craft.
just doing the all side missions ,gigs, and ncpd jobs alone when youre locked in Watson pretty much sets you up to be OP for the rest of the game
Awesome! Glad to see someone test this! Was pretty curious, means ill definitely do a level grind for a character that basically is lvl 50 with no points in anything and no map progress for build diversity fun. Thinking cool as a definite starting 6 points and either tech or intel as the other as both seem universally useful to most any build. Legendary short circuit is too good…
Its actualy the other way around u get more xp the higher the level u r
GOG galaxy says i've played 115 hours, most on difficulty hard. Switched to very hard near level 22. I am level 30 now, with street cred 50. A lot of just site seeing and playing around. Watching all cutscenes, quest text etc. I play quite steathily usually. I felt leveling was dog slow. I have yet to start that final main quest line mission, all of the character side quests are complete.
I'm max level and endgame now. My only lament is that there is no endgame for me to test my powerful netrunner/tech sniper powers!
I hope to see more powerful mechs in future content to test my Comrades Hammer and my OFive against. I wanna blow mechs up, and melt humans with my hacks! I AM A CONQUEROR WITH NOTHING TO CONQUER! Must be how Alexander The Great felt like.
My problem with grinding vs playing is that grinding is boring, and a lot of the content is outleveled by the time you get to it even if you aren't grinding, so if you grind to 50 first then 90% of the content of the game, the good set piece fights that should actually be fun and challenging, will instead be one shot kills and nothing burgers. It's like intentionally trying to ruin the game for yourself.
fastest way to level up is to edit the save file…. but whats the fun in that???
Just enjoy the game whatever you do.
My Hammer is almost 3000 DPS . I want it stronger and I have not even met Takamura at the Diner yet .
The higher the level the better the drop from enemies.
I can understand if the game had online play but grinding is honestly pointless at this point
On Hard difficulty, I just played through all the missions (including Open World ones) in the very first zone, and I was already level 20 and street cred 37 before I started "The Ride". On my 3rd playthrough now and have never needed to grind levels. Grinding perks is one thing, but levels, there is seriously no need.
I feel like this game is missing way too much content and is so unbalanced that there isn’t much incentive to grind? Only times I was kicking myself for not leveling was when you needed to open doors with high technical, hacking, or strength skill.
