In the distant future, the power of science and technology has ushered a new age to the human race. Space and time have become irrelevant thanks
to virtual reality. A new kind of supercomputer has been developed – a machine which superior artificial intelligence and computing capability will
push humanity even further. There is only one problem: there isn’t enough
energy in the whole planet to feed this machine.
You are a space engineer in charge of a project launched by the space alliance COSMO, tasked with a massive undertaking: constructing a Dyson
Sphere, a megastructure that would orbit around a star, harnessing all its
power and energy. Only a few decades ago it was considered a hypothetical, impossible invention – but now it’s in your hands… if you can manage to develop this space workshop in some galactic backwater into a galaxy-wide industrial production empire!
ABOUT EARLY ACCESS
While the core mechanics of Dyson Sphere Program are ready, the game still can grow and evolve a lot – and Early Access is just the perfect place for it to reach its true potential. We believe that by letting players experience the main content of Dyson Sphere Program and actively interacting with them to collect their feedback will allow us to improve the game and make it much better than it would be without this Early Access stage. Our plans are for this EA stage to be about 1 year long. But that is not written in stone

A hint: Splitters actually got 3 different shapes. Try them out and you will be excited! Especially by a two-level perpendicular one
I think your splitter assembly needs a filter on both exits to avoid a potential grid lock in the future?
Nilaus, how do you use the pipette tool similar to factorio's 'Q' in this game? I can't quite seem to figure it out
Have you tried using godmode in construction mode? It's real nice when you get into the bigger builds.
How long will that small magnet/circuits for science last, now that you're tapping it this heavy?

Regarding the Transport Towers: the towers themselves can be left unpowered and still work, both as supply and as demand. But in order to have ships vollecting and delivering, the towers with the ships needs power to charge the engines of said transporter ships.
Goes for both types of towers: I had a powered Interplanetary Tower on my starter moon, and an unpowered on my Titanium planet. Took a bit of time for a round trip with only 10 ships traveling through the vacuum, but forgot to set up a solar panel production to build up power xD
I would love to show you my mall area. I'm insanely proud of it. I took your design from episode 2 and kind expanded off of it. Some aspects just kinda fell in place and it was cool how it just somehow worked out. I wouldn't mind sending you the save file to check it out.

I think I might be doing this in the wrong order…. I've automated all my tier I-III belts and sorters, automated science, and completed every blue, red, and yellow research and I haven't constructed a single drone yet

Nice, you are actually helping me with my Factorio Space Exploration playthrough.
I've found it worthwhile to tack a steel smelter onto the end of my Hub area. Just a couple of smelters running off the remains of the iron line into a storage box. Ditto with foundation. Run out of the steel smelters into a fabricator and then into another box. One stop shop.
I think the prisms were built double. Your ratio was 3 photon, 2 prism, 6 glass which is why it ate so much space. I love how you work through figuring out how much you need though, and will be using that along with the DSP calculator I found here: https://shadowtheage.github.io/factorio-lab/list#p=. Keep up the great videos!
Even if it was over built, now you have prisms and photon combiners in the network, and both are used to make buildings. So its all good if your looking to set up a Hub to produce everything at some point. I would love to see how you make it in this game compared to factorio, there are so many products to juggle here.
You overbuild prism. You said 6-2-3 ratio then you did instead build a 6-4-3 ratio. You will need to increase glass build to have you prism factories working.

Leave a spot open in all your big towers for warps so your ships can jump to other systems even with out fuel they will try to make the trip and take a very long time
Looks good, but the game desperatly needs the option to copypasta.
It would ne cool if u make a Place where u only Build and bring the resources with the planetary deliver system. Like iron coper and so in fling to the factory

totally enjoying the game and your content! keep it up! might try to do a pills and tips serie with condensed builds and tricks with few minutes long episodes. Get to satellite power transmission and bye bye power poles. Also if you set different orbits in the shooty shooty, it will get more even coverage and starts looking like a stellar atom
Classic Nilaus: Publicly calculates that he needs 2 prism assemblers per 6 smelters, then builds twice the amount. Love the series, keep it up!

Nice series, a tip is to tab (switch) on the splitter, this way you can do multi-level stuff easier

I feel bad that I feel asleep while I was watching this. It's not boring. I am just tired and Nilaus's voice is really calming.
I landed on another solar system today ! Yeepee ! I went to another one, the first had just a barren planet with some fire ice, the other one however, is a prairie planet with, hold on, 96 crude oil/sec on it ! Warpers are called to main lobby, i repeat, warpers are called to MAIN LOBBY ! I'm making the research for vessel to be able to warp, gonna make a chain production of those when i get back and then the fun will begin ^^
PS : have deuterium fuel rods on you for those trips, hydrogen become useless, unless you want to pack 10 stacks with you.
I stopped shooting off solar sails when I realised it was just wasting resources until you have a Dyson sphere segment to stick them to. They don't last long enough free floating.

I watch your video's for a while now since 0.17 did come out i watch other YouTubers before for factorio but in the end i like the math of your video's i dont comment or antthing sometimes i watch a stream but that's i but i was thinking could you maybe in the next or the one after that build another orbid around the sun. So you let some shooty shooty shoot at your titanium/lava planet and some at your existing planet so your titanium/lava planet has enough power or can you not have that much luck i am 17 And dutch so dont mind my Grammene etc. Bye.

Imagine lategame, i figure the easiest thing will be to simply ship all the finished dyson sphere products to another star system, then just have launchers there to assemble it.
I'm about to try that soon, around a blue giant.
I wish there will be more 'stuff' though, rather than just getting energy from it.
In real life (well, theory), you can both extract metals like Iron from stars if you have a dyson sphere around it, and if you open a little "hatch" you can allow the star to shoot out a jet of matter through that opening, which can travel several thousand lightyears and sterilize distant solar systems.
Would be cool if they also add extremely costly tech that requires you to build a matrioshka brain around a star.

The game is not ready for non US states. Playing it with a french keyboard is impossible. Once you're up in space, you incapable to either move to another planet, or even come back to where you started. And the guide won't help you. Go try and steer yourself in space with ZQSD on your english and get back here tell me it's easy. You shouldn't make any publicity to that game, that's criminal.
Im what …. day 8 into this game im about to start launching Dyson Rockets to build the frame in the next time I play it. Never left my home world except to gather some iron and rare minerals.
