Dyson Sphere Program is a sci-fi simulation game with space, adventure, exploration and factory automation elements where you can build your own galactic industrial empire from scratch.

Every playthrough will be unique: your universe will be procedurally generated every time you start a new game. There will be different types and distribution of stars, planets and resources. Will you manage to thrive and build your Spheres, no matter what the universe throws at you?

As a space engineer, you are expected to design your interstellar factory and production lines, not to micromanage every small package going back and forth. You have to transport materials from one planet to another, forming interstellar transport teams that gather resources and bring them to where they are needed.

Then, your resources can be transported between facilities through conveyor belts, and you’ve got the technology to help your buildings fit the grid automatically during the construction process. You’ve got the best tools COSMO can afford to build a massive-scale automated production line – the most efficient one ever seen in the universe!

– Build a galactic industrial empire from scratch: start with a small workshop and improve it until it spans the whole galaxy
– Develop your very own Dyson Spheres, a megastructure that orbits around a star harnessing all its power and energy, from the first screw to its completion
– Explore a vast universe procedurally generated with all kinds of celestial bodies: neutron stars, white dwarfs, red giants…
– Gather resources in planets of all types: ocean, lava, desert, frozen, gaseous planets…
– Research new technologies to improve your factories… and discover the secrets of the universe
– Enhance mecha fly, sail or jump through outer space and planets
– Transport materials across the galaxy to your facilities: thousands of transport ships will flow endlessly to your factories and back!
– Design the most efficient automated factory and production line
– Customize your factory and Dyson Sphere to make it unique
– Design a balanced power network capable of producing energy in all kinds of power plants like wind turbines, artificial stars, etc.

  1. The railguns not firing all the time is actually a good way to balance the amount of sails in the swarm. If they fire all the time the factors are amount of railguns and production. But if they don't fire all the time the factor is only the amount of railguns as long as production is high enough. So if you need more power you can just add another railgun.
Remember to reserve one spot in the tower for the warp items. Easier to have them request it then belt them in and it is a pain to retrofit the towers to have one spot for the warpers when you get those.

  2. Tip: If you forget to set a filter on your logistics tower output, there's no need to delete and re-connect the belt as you do @7:26 – just hover over the area just above where the belt enters the tower, and you'll get a filter icon you can click on to set the output filter for that belt.

  3. Would be cool if you need some extra umphh to get away from gas giant "surface". Those monsters have some serious gravity. It could be some booster part or something you need to carry to escape heavy gravity.

  4. not sure if you recorded a bunch in a row, but the devs did add some more options to the logistics system, so you can set the minimum recourses a ship can take, among other settings

  5. For warpers – I need to test this, but the work-around I was planning was to have a dedicated export interstellar station with the % full logistic ships setting set to like 5-10%, will let you know if it works later today when I setup my large scale deuterium processing facility.

  6. The update from 2 days ago allows you to set the minumum amount the vessels and drones can transport. however transportiung 1000 warper is really not a problem, it is just a big buffer, and you need only one per planet and request locally for all other stations

  7. Have another question… solar power is a big part of my grid probably like many others. My question is as you build your dyson does your solar effectiveness start to drop and eventually become useless?

  8. So hydrogen. It gets backed up and everyone's response is "burn it off". If you're like me and have been keeping up with energy demands by a safe margin, then there's no demand, and the hydrogen won't burn off fast enough. Here's my solution, and the sooner you adopt it the easier it will be if you decide to. Get rid of all other generation. I use my ray receivers on other bodies to power remote plants, I got rid of all but a few of my thermal generators (a few to balance energized graphite after x-ray cracking), then all excess hydrogen goes to a huge array of fractionation machines and home planet is fueled almost exclusively by deuterium. That gets rid of quite a lot of excess hydrogen (if you're like me and made a massive oil refinery plant and have just way, way too much to deal with).

  9. Does having more solar receiver dishes in the same area really give more energy since they are all drawing from the same source minus losses for transmission? I would think the only way the dishes would give more energy is if they were positioned where they could work when the first one was obstructed, or if one receiver had a max capacity and couldn't handle all the power being beamed back. (OK, just noticed the 5.5kw max when you had one selected, question withdrawn) Also wouldn't it be more efficient to place the solar sail orbit close to the sun where the energy is both more prevalent and isn't blocked at any point by intervening planets.

  10. I love that you are streaming this series. I just miss the cat-crafting reference from Satisfactory, just because the devs made handcrafting much easier in Dyson Sphere. Darn them. 🙂 (Edit: Wow, my spelling is bad when I did not sleep)

  11. I love your series! Quick tip: if you don't want the manual research pane to always appear, you can uncheck "use inventory item". That is unless you want to research tech from your inventory!

  12. the ship cargo size is the minimum payload it will carry so if you don't have the inventory in the tower the ship will not deal with it. it's in their wiki page.
i was wondering the same on my end until i found out by trial/error and their documentation

  13. The belt went down unexpectedly because belt drawing snaps to things they can connect with. You must have had your cursor on the lower belt rather than the upper one, which is something that happens to me pretty regularly. But! You can hold shift when drawing belts to disable snapping, which I've found immensely useful (I make a lot of very vertical belt structures).

  14. 22:40 I found that you can actually stagger chests on one side and assemblers on the other side of a two lane conveyor line and they will be able to access each other. What this means is that I craft conveyor or sorter level 1, put them into a chest (on the other side of the input lines) and it is just in reach to be the input of the next assembler for the level 2 item rather than doing a direct input from assembler to assembler. I hope I described this well enough, it is kind of hard without a picture, but essentially this means the output chest for level 1 is the input for level 2, and if you set the chest for less than the full amount, you will always have a place to drop your older items to be processed into the higher level versions. (picture all the assemblers lined up next to each other and all of the chests on the other side centered on the gaps between the assemblers)

  15. I'm so happy you feel you are able to create new content again!

Content creators have played it so much and have so many blueprints and know all the ratios that they are able to make production systems that are almost works of art and when I compare it to mine (even when I try to mimic their discoveries) I come away with the feeling that I just create a mess

With this series I'm starting from basically the same point as you, learning and building as you do. Watching you make a bit of spaghetti trying to get that one damned resource we all forgot all about connected to your production line is a delight; I'm able to see that you are indeed a human too just like me. You weren't born already a logistics goddess but had to attain it. And it is within my capacity too

Your videos are always entertaining and informative and I wish you the best in the future 🙂

  16. Oh maaan I've bounced off the atmosphere and even worse been slingshotted by the gas giant, like in the first few minutes, lol. It's SO painful to recover from! Also you're really good at that sail boosting across planets. I still need practice at that!

  17. I was looking at your planet, your orbital period is 1391 and your rotation is 490, so that means, that where you placed your launchers will always be in the dark. you need to move them to the other side of the planet , into the sunny side so they can see the see the dyson swarm.

  18. Hi KatherineOfSky , on this episode you are mentioning ships capacity and the fact that they won't budge if not at full capacity. From my viewing of Nilaus, when you are on the Interstellar Tower menu, there is a bar at the end of it that regulates ship capacity. Nilaus always puts that at 10%. Hope that helps.
