Dyson Sphere Program is a sci-fi simulation game with space, adventure, exploration and factory automation elements where you can build your own galactic industrial empire from scratch.
Every playthrough will be unique: your universe will be procedurally generated every time you start a new game. There will be different types and distribution of stars, planets and resources. Will you manage to thrive and build your Spheres, no matter what the universe throws at you?
As a space engineer, you are expected to design your interstellar factory and production lines, not to micromanage every small package going back and forth. You have to transport materials from one planet to another, forming interstellar transport teams that gather resources and bring them to where they are needed.
Then, your resources can be transported between facilities through conveyor belts, and you’ve got the technology to help your buildings fit the grid automatically during the construction process. You’ve got the best tools COSMO can afford to build a massive-scale automated production line – the most efficient one ever seen in the universe!
– Build a galactic industrial empire from scratch: start with a small workshop and improve it until it spans the whole galaxy
– Develop your very own Dyson Spheres, a megastructure that orbits around a star harnessing all its power and energy, from the first screw to its completion
– Explore a vast universe procedurally generated with all kinds of celestial bodies: neutron stars, white dwarfs, red giants…
– Gather resources in planets of all types: ocean, lava, desert, frozen, gaseous planets…
– Research new technologies to improve your factories… and discover the secrets of the universe
– Enhance mecha fly, sail or jump through outer space and planets
– Transport materials across the galaxy to your facilities: thousands of transport ships will flow endlessly to your factories and back!
– Design the most efficient automated factory and production line
– Customize your factory and Dyson Sphere to make it unique
– Design a balanced power network capable of producing energy in all kinds of power plants like wind turbines, artificial stars, etc.

28:38 Same for me. I was in Physics honors and Calculus in my 12th year. A few months after highschool I was hospitalized, and now I have brain damage, and I have a hard time with numbers… its sooo frustrating. I can do the math, but not in my head anymore.
40:00 Brokenish sciencing.
I take a "break" (translation: work got a little busy) for a few days and you've got automated purple science and warp drive while I'm still struggling to get logistics nailed down.
But you were probably 90% done by the time I was automating yellow cubes, so it's all good. 😀
In your Fractionator loop, you have one lone green belt bottlenecking throughput.
I moved to a different Mall structure. The individual structures are manufactured in "tower factories" – a tower with a few factories connected – and then exported to a set of storages. They're also exported offworlds. Some production is optimized. For instance, you won't need Mk I or II conveyer belts, so the production is chained to produce only Mk III.
The only real downside to having belts run around happily was the annoyance of removing them if needed, but now you can do so en masse
I found organizing the production is a lot like programming. I see similar abstract patterns emerge and the things can be done in multiple paradigms. The emergence of modules and libraries with the help of drone transport, dependencies decoupling when you move the economy from spaghetti mode to tower mode. The tower factory is like an actor model. Factory towns are like modules with inputs and outputs defined. And they work best when you keep them as pure functions!
Mandatory participation comment to help KoS. Thank you, cheers!
I made too many warpers, got 3x mark 2 box's full
the logistictowers are the mainissiue of you powerproblems though i belive ,i guess you need to find a good balance
heres a math question for you Kaatherine..
whats 3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3?
dont worry, I save you the headake…
its a forest
this joke works both in english and Norwegian
I found out something today you might find usefull … When placing a 4-way splitter you can hit TAB to get different configurations of 4-way splitters, some of which have inputs/outputs on different vertical levels. 🙂
dont have anything clever to say, but im sure the algorithm doesnt mind
I like how you are using the towers!
This is a good example of when the stats window comes in handy. All the "I'm not sure i'm making these". I went with a micro factories all over the star cluster. So using that window has become a god send to check production everywhere.
As well. If you want to use a big tower for local only for your small batch stuff. Set the remote to storage. That way it doesn't try to ship off your small batch stuff to other planets.
Windmines ❤️
I think all logistic towers should have, at least, room for 12 different products as they have 12 different input/output belt system. You might say me I can use them for the same product, and you won't be wrong by any mean, but it would allow towers to be more efficient I think. Indeed I love your uploads.
I'm always sad when I see the coal veins on the lava planet. Imagining the cataclysm that killed all life there.
I didn't see you put any ships in the new orbital collectors. You won't get much more fire ice .
I like-a da spaghett
For the algorithm…..
I think having a few drone stations over each planet is smart…especially if something is half a world away. However, I love that your base is different to almost every single playthrough on YT (drone golf balls with mathematically precise quadrants making each world look the same, etc.). So as long as you keep your style for the most part with lots of belts but a few key drone stations, I'd be happy with that!
There is already too many towers everywhere if it comes to looks, but I guess they are practical.
one thing I found out, you need one slot for warpers!!
I think I'm actually a little bit ahead of your videos in my game for the first time 😀 also yesssss logistics shenanigans, I really love doing things with logistics stations, it can turn into a bit of a snarl of "oh no where am I actually getting <X>
from" and it's easy to mess yourself up when you can't physically -seebelt depletion but… it's so fun to just blonk a tower down and then ingredients just Happen xDGuys I bought this game 3 days ago but I already have 115 hours put in…
I don't understand how this is possible, I may be stuck in some sort of time loop, pls send help or white cubes.
I think your belt / logistics balance is fine. You enjoy belt spaghetti, so I don't think you'll overuse logistics.
Mushroom particle broadband. Jokes aside, really like your videos!
hey KoS I have suggestions for the name of the delivery system "KoS express" and "spaghetti express" what do you think?
The alternate recipe for warpers yields 8 instead of 1 in the same time.
Did you know the color of the energy radius from power supplies indicates how your power is doing? I am not sure exactly what colors as I am partly colorblind, but early in your video I saw you placing things and thought "power is low"
Also thanks so much for the timer on the spreadsheet, I love seeing what you are building.
Oh, and particle broadband mushrooms because raisins
So I don't have the game, but from what You've played so far, do you think the best way to deal with limited resources (iron, copper…) is to seed the galaxy with planet wide factories for one item (likely intermediary rather than primary) production to maximise output over time?
Don't request warpers… request green cubes and then convert them to at a 1:10 ratio.
I heard the guy who directed the film 'An Inconvenient Truth' couldn't dance. Unlike youtube, he lacked Al Gore rhythm.
Commenting for the algorithm.
Refeeding fractionators feels a little bit exploity. It’s just physically wrong that you can convert all your hydrogen into deuterium. I’m not sure how much of a change it would be but they should separate hydrogen into protium (hydrogen 1) and deuterium. Protium and hydrogen would be interchangeable in all recipes except for fractionators which would not accept protium.
I don’t blame anyone for using it because it is the best way to get deuterium. It’s just so much cheaper and more efficient than using particle collider.
Mandatory comment section, lol
You do great KoS I love what you're doing.
My inner Monk just sometimes screams because I see more little mistakes if I'm not playing myself 😂
But that's on me 😅
Mushroom
Not sure why you dislike the substations, those 2 mines and logistics tower could all have been covered with 2 of them, plus they have more range then power towers
I can't help but think it may have made more sense to use the green turbines you're already shopping from lava planet on home planet to make blue motors. There's more coal available at home.
About the logistic towers vs belts, I think you should use whatever makes you happy at the time because your happiness is important to us <3
Thanks Katherine, your vids are appreciated! Migraines are no fun, I hope you feel better.
For small deposits the logistics towers make sense but for everything else spaghetti all the way!
@10:44 the great thing is we get enjoyment from different things and we can adapt the game to our playstyle. I don't like thst part, so I create huge lines and resource flows from the very beginning. Took me two full days of playing to get to red science because I have two belts of ore going all around my planet that branch off in different ways. I love my conveyer lines and have just started a second planet where I'm doing my logistics crafting and my third planet will be largely for smelting. I don't even have local logistics towers yet (but working on it)
It's all about the belt throughput and I'll probably use logistics towers for inter planet stuff and a lot of baaic materials getting where they need to go. I know exactly how much input my belt lines need and I don't expect to ever get to the point where I don't have enough input because I'm not building 'temporary early game' stuff.
A youtube poll, uh?! =D Now why would you do that exactly?
im so behind on this series, been without power for days, but im back baby
I like how you play, it's unique to you. You've always been the belt diva for me, so I like your belts and spaghetti. Towers are useful, and clean and nice, mostly, but it's not belt diva-y. :3
Nice features of Logistic towers, is that you can pickup items from them from ANYWHERE on a planet, if you click on them from planet view, could be an unintended bug that devs will fix 🤷🏻♂️
Hey KoS, you're making like a BILLION diamonds over there.
