Dyson Sphere Program is a sci-fi simulation game with space, adventure, exploration and factory automation elements where you can build your own galactic industrial empire from scratch.

Every playthrough will be unique: your universe will be procedurally generated every time you start a new game. There will be different types and distribution of stars, planets and resources. Will you manage to thrive and build your Spheres, no matter what the universe throws at you?

As a space engineer, you are expected to design your interstellar factory and production lines, not to micromanage every small package going back and forth. You have to transport materials from one planet to another, forming interstellar transport teams that gather resources and bring them to where they are needed.

Then, your resources can be transported between facilities through conveyor belts, and you’ve got the technology to help your buildings fit the grid automatically during the construction process. You’ve got the best tools COSMO can afford to build a massive-scale automated production line – the most efficient one ever seen in the universe!

– Build a galactic industrial empire from scratch: start with a small workshop and improve it until it spans the whole galaxy
– Develop your very own Dyson Spheres, a megastructure that orbits around a star harnessing all its power and energy, from the first screw to its completion
– Explore a vast universe procedurally generated with all kinds of celestial bodies: neutron stars, white dwarfs, red giants…
– Gather resources in planets of all types: ocean, lava, desert, frozen, gaseous planets…
– Research new technologies to improve your factories… and discover the secrets of the universe
– Enhance mecha fly, sail or jump through outer space and planets
– Transport materials across the galaxy to your facilities: thousands of transport ships will flow endlessly to your factories and back!
– Design the most efficient automated factory and production line
– Customize your factory and Dyson Sphere to make it unique
– Design a balanced power network capable of producing energy in all kinds of power plants like wind turbines, artificial stars, etc.

  1. Hey KOS, small suggestion for your foray into the universe,

Full Accumulators & Enegy Exchangers make for a great way to

kick start your off world mining. You deleted a whole lot of

powerstations previously those could of been used to charge

the empty Accumulators. With a Dyson Sphere you should have excess energy.

Basically have a Interstellar Logistics Station (ILS) store & Supply

Accumulators, Energy Exchangers & warpers to supply to all your ILSs

have the newly made (empty) Accumulators feed into the ILS then feed out

in the the Energy Exchangers (set to charge) then have them feed back

into the ILS ready for transport.

On the receiving end do the same but have the Energy exchangers Discharge,

and have the the empty Accumulators feed back into the ILS to charge back at the home planet.

The energy to charge will be basically free (with a Dyson Sphere) and you're recycling… lol…

  2. There doesn't seem to be a limit to how many fractionators you can use other than needing to feed the belt in multiple places to stop it from running dry toward the end of the loop. I have a polar ring making deuterium that's got something like 30 or 40 in a single line that runs very happily and can easily get a second ring outside it. Only teething issue was I set it on remote demand forgetting that the gas giant would flood the tower with gas.

  3. I definitely ran out of basic resources and wanted to use the rare elements so warpers are hugely important! But I found that one machine making them from one sorter leeching off the green magic cubes line to be more than enough.

  4. I get not wanting to use a spreadsheet just to play a game, but perhaps just using a basic Notepad to jot down problems you find and goals so you don't forget. This is definitely the kind of game where one problem drives out another and we forget why we're here in the first place.

  5. I use the particle collider and thermal generators in their own little power grid. All to burn and consume the stupid amounts of hydrogen this game gives you.
also at 35:00 you have actually tested it your self many times if you stop and think about it. How many times have you jsut put a tower down and request stuff from the mall without power it? The power is only consumed on the departure end of the vessel.

  6. KoS: "Hmm…if this makes things at this rate…then I can have this many assemblers that use it at the same rate"
Me: "Why aren't the 15 of every kind of factory I've put down working?!?!?!"

  7. I have a silicon desert as my inner planet. No titanium. I have to go to the outer planet for titanium. It's a huge pain in the space where you are building your first towers and you have to go back and forth just to build them.

The other weird thing about that planet is the axal tilt is 83 degrees. Solar panels on the poles are no good, and during the summer and winter nearly all of the equator is lit. I've started solar panels around the equator. It's probably going to eventually be my main energy hub for loading battery thingies (can't recall what they are called just now)

  8. @20:00 they really need to do something about that transition to and from sail mode when you are on the planet. I keep entering sail mode when I don't want to and I lose control and wind up somewhere random as I try to smash s and alt to land.

  9. Look into the tech, green cubes convert to 8 warpers. I move green cubes to other systems and convert the cubes. Then in new system move the warpers around from there. Controlling the distance ships can travel, a lot to say about this to move things smart around each system, and the cluster. Control the distance things can travel

  10. I got lucky enough to find a system with a gas giant that had a planet with sulferic acid oceans and 50M plus copper, iron, and titanium. If the system had oil.. Oh well, still a great place to make dueteron fuel rods. I also have never made a single warper out of a graviton lens. The green science cube recipe is just so far superior.

  11. I'd love to see some kind of list of logistics stations, what they were importing/exporting, and where they were. I started out with a flurry of post-it notes to keep track and thought about starting a spreadsheet like you were talking about and quickly came to the same conclusion. Blech.

  12. God mode wind turbines is much easier by the equator, I avoid the poles for those unless on one of the main lateral lines. Usually I just do straight lines and not grids, put down 4 or 5 shift right click to move and repeat. These then act as a world grid points I can tap into for power, usual is the 2 lateral circles and 1 equatorial, any more then that it becomes tedious (more so) and wind turbines just don't have the capacity for large power requirements

  13. You could try something like this to give you more functionality without moving your let hand. The default 03, 07, 08 and 09 buttons are pre-programmed for WASD and you can reprogram all the keys to do whatever you want them to. Best of all you can set up so that this is on your chairs left armrest and a special mousing surface is on the right one, then sit back and relax while gaming.

  14. May be a few days late, but the consumption rate of fuel rods or any fuel into generators is Joules/Watts = seconds of power at that wattage. Dueteron fuel rods have 600 MJ and fusion generators produce 9MW of power so 600/9 ~ 66s of 9MW power. And you're assumption is correct that the rate of burning that fuel is affected by the energy demand. If you only needed 4.5MW of power, each fuel rod would last twice as long. ~132s.

  15. Some more maths to throw at you. When you do a quick smelting array calculation, I notice you're still calculating based off of 100% mining productivity. I think you're at 130% or something, so if you find you have 40 mining nodes tapped, your actually getting the equivalent of 52 nodes. I find its not too tough to just add by 10%'s. 40 + 4 + 4 + 4 for this easy example. Even if its 46 or something with a weird 10th, you can just round down every time to the whole number and still be super duper close! 46 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 58 where exact answer is 59.6.
