  1. WOW, i am so glad you are playing this ! I know you are 'Factoria Champ God etc', .. and I was dreaming of you playing this. My base ( 4th attempt ) is going well, but i absolutely love your advice on these types of games. Thank you sooooooooo much! And of course I hope you are enjoying this game as much as I am. "KatherineOfSky' you are amazing … ( Aussie here btw )

  2. On the topic of solar vs wind. I built a ring of solar panels near the north pole which means they almost always are in sunlight. Also solar generate 360kw compared to wind's 300kw. You can also place about 25 solars in the restriction radius of the wind turbine. Resource wise it is easier for wind but for power efficiency solar is 25x more efficient. Just wanted to explain the reasoning for solar ring. It has been powering my factory without thermal stations or accumulators with consistent power for a very long time.

  3. I remember you saying in your first video (I think) that with the non-american key board, you weren't sure what the copy/paste hotkeys are. For me, the copy key ("<") is on the bottom row right three keys away from the right shift key, it's also the comma key. The paste key (">") is just to the right of that, and is also the period key. I hope that helps, and if it doesn't, I'm sorry! Love your videos!

  4. Bot power problems get so much more manageable when you get the big power poles. They let you draw power from the factory network to charge. Its so nice to fly from one side of the planet to the other without having to carry half an inventory of full.

  5. There are some planets that are tidally locked with their star, and have a dark side and a light side. Such planets have 100% up-time for solar, so long as you build on the side facing the star.

  6. I had to laugh because whenever my sister or I did something silly our father used to call us flipsy dipsy doodles. So I understand the occasional attack of flipsia. I love your videos!

  7. I tested some solar. I put them on the south pole. Thet work at all times, not at 100% all the time, but they work just fine, and they don’t take as much as space as the wind generators

  8. If you want to get effecient solar power up, then you should do it at the poles. Not only because you don't really want to build anything else there, but because half the time, you'll have the north pole saturated entirely for most of the "day," And the same, but inverse on the south pole. Canted planets are kind of cool like that.

  9. Does windows know you have a Norwegian keyboard, or is it assuming you have a US one? I'm not sure if it would help and it's kind of buried but you can check if you go into settings > Time & Language > Language > English > Options > Keyboards

  10. If you have a planet that is tidally locked or if you build solar panels on the poles of the planet you end up having much more uptime for power generation and you don’t need to make a giant ring around the equator

  11. Solar gets way better once you get accumulators tbh. When I'm going to a new planet I always bring a few hundred panels and accumulators with me to Jumpstart production till I can setup solar sails and wholesome artillery cannons 🤣

  12. the solar works just great however, make a solar ring and place wind turbine in them
since wind turbine cannot be to close, the solar between the turbine saves spaces and works great

i did a solar only ring, 5 width across the globe and i get about 400MW of power at all the time

  13. 27:00 A little bit of math will tell you solar is better on an equal resource planet, lets work with 100% efficiency 1 wind turbine provides 300kw 1 solar = 360 kw, but only works 1/2 the time, you can place 3 solar panels down per 1 wind turbine, (360 x 3) / 2 = 540kw to 300kw; the solar hype is real. I am also of the mind that finite resources used for fuel is a bad idea, hydrogen is infinite so once you get to that point then use that as fuel when you need more power per meter.

  14. Solar panels produce 360kw, whereas wind produces 300. Also, in the space you create 4 wind turbines, you can place 9 solar panels. A Single ring around the equator on my planet, produces 80W at all times of day. In order for wind to be equal to solar in terms of power, the bonuses would have to be immense in favor of wind.
