  1. I am so glad you are doing this series, KoS. I've missed your well thought-out style and relaxed demeanour. I hope you are doing good and the kitties are behaving! πŸ™‚

  2. It looks like you were looking at the star map the wrong way. if you press "n" in map view and in star map view, you will orient to the north. you can also in star map view see in the top right corner a compass.

  3. placed at the poles the solar sail shooters are active almost all the time, and the power recepticles are active the whole time, juge because of how large they are. They are best mirrored at both poles

  4. Another way to setup x-ray cracking is to use a splitter to loop the hydrogen, and prioritize the output that loops the hydrogen back, with the other output putting the hydrogen to wherever you want it

  5. You might want to automate landfill because there are complete ocean planets in the game. So in order to get any resources from them you have to landfill the resource nodes to even harvest them. And that takes quite a bit of those items πŸ˜‰
Landfill with decoration is always some concrete looking ground while without decoration will look like sea level of the planet. So on the first one sand, on lava planets some blackish rock, on ice planets snow and so on. The other option is that you can pave over nodes to build there or if you did that get the node back.

  6. I've been using storage tanks as ersatz fluid splitters without prioritization.
I'm also planning on moving my railguns to the poles of the planets so they're almost always firing on the Dyson swarm.

  7. The railguns need line-of-sight to the Dyson swarm orbit it's targeting, but also a firing angle that isn't close to perpendicular to the planet surface it's firing from.

  8. Hi KoS great series so far. Just noticed that the magnetic coils in the mall bin was quite low. Is that because production is choked or because demand for it (blue cubes and such) is so high?

  9. I want to love this game, but in the last few days of loading it up I just do a couple things and quit to desktop because I see all the new things I have to make after just completing the first round of new things. I think it moves too fast. I think it feels like there are too many things you need to research and build that you research way too quickly that are only used to make one new thing. I didn't love satisfactory at first either . I bought that game and played for a day , then came back and played it tons half a year later. Maybe that will be the case for this game too. Maybe , for me, its the lack of something else to worry about that prevents me from caring to rush forward with building , the way factorio does for me. Lol maybe I just need to wait for people to figure out all the building ratios because I don't enjoy that at all.

  10. When deleting a stretch of conveyor, in deconstruction mode hold the mouse click on the first conveyor deconstruction and glide it over the others, it will only delete a conveyor pc attached to the last, even if the mouse wanders off, just keep holding the click and the game will remember which line your deleting, great when removing a single conveyor in a sea of spaghetti

  11. Hey KoS, loving how excited you are about this game!!!

Just wanted to throw a quick tip your way regarding the planet orbits and such, specifically about axial tilt and which pole is going to see more sun. Because this game actually simulates things like axial tilt and orbits and such which pole is in the sun will vary throughout the planets trip around the gas giant and around the sun, so your planet will actually experience seasons!! it's pretty cool, but it does mean that you can't just count on one pole consistently having more sun than the other.

I am having such a blast in the game and I really hope you continue to enjoy it!

  12. Your assumption that the North Pole has always sunlight assumes there is no procession implemented: Which would be cool (and procession could be surprisingly fast as this is a moon of a planet as opposed to our own procession which is 10’s of thousands of years.

  13. 19:18 You can still see quick glimpse of 1 of the blue cube ingredients making constructors missing a recipe. Episode 6 didn't go near the setup anymore so i guess it is still broken later on.

  14. I imagine much of the grid's "wonkyness" comes from A: trying to project a flat grid on a sphere, which always results in some warping and B: items having a larger size than they show in-game, i.e. the footprint on the grid being bigger than the model looks.

  15. The thing I really like about your channel is that you don't cut out a lot of content like most of the other youtubers do. They say it's because they don't think it would be interesting to watch but I learn more when there isn't a lot of cutting done and I like to be the one to decide what is interesting to me. Great job as always KOS!

  16. one thing a splitter can do if you click on it is set priority inputs and outputs, but you can also filter outputs, one thing thing you can do to save a bit of space over having a belt run over another is setting an output filter for one product, and then feeding both inputs in and it will only allow the one product on the line you want to cross, and both belts will move and full speed
