I'm sure this has been said 100x before, but if this game has any sort of realism, please don't make the mistake of putting solar at the poles. Average solar insolation is highest at the equator, and during the "winter" darkness you'll have zero energy production.
I really love how the lava camouflaged the missing item highlight in the UI that well. Congrats on getting to a new planet. I hope you can get the logistics part of things sorted fairly quickly.

The issue with sometimes can't place a belt happens when you click on the inserter when you start. Somehow the game wants to start the belt on top of the inserter instead of continuing the belt below it which doesn't work. Sort of a minor placement bug I guess, but easily spottet since the first segment is red in that case.
Batteries are important later since you need them for the gas giant harvesting building.
You're luckier than me on planets, I have only one planet with silicon, and it has no coal, no wind, and very little solar. I basically had to charge batteries on the main planet then send the batteries to the planet.
Hey KoS, you can series connect power plants to really crank out power in a compact way. Also can't you just Make silicon on first world using the recipe?

I just went through all your dyson vids in 2 days, awesome, love this game. I'm more vertical in my building, like stacking containers and pancake style bus, I've got a single line 8 conveyor high and I sorter off of them, you do have to keep the buildings back a little further but I like the look, power only goes up 8 levels though so my 9th is more of a direct feed, Item production 1 side, building production the other. Saturating conveyors seems a little overkill in majority of productions, like research, I put in 1 buffer chest per color which holds 6000 science and they fill up quick. Love the series, glad your back in action.

Something I figured out last night – There is a research that gives 10% mining speed and -6% resources used, but the trick is this ALSO effects the rate of oil extracted. The oil node will still show the original rate on the node but if you see the rate in the tooltip of the extractor then itll be coming out at X per min that is relative to the % bonus you have researched. A HUGE help with oil builds as you get further in.
Intraplanetary: between places on one planet
Interplanetary/ Intrastellar: between places on different planets in one solar system
Interstellar: between planets around different stars.
This planet has a small axial tilt (2 deg) so solar at the poles makes sense. The local "winter" at the pole will be in very small area.
You might already know, but other viewer not, a coal generator can get his fuel from another coal generator with the sorter. And to travel to space hydrogen have a faster recharge rate.
wow the views… Maybe its a heavy effect from slacking on tech imo? Sorta why I skip around since I am just further in game, really looking forward to yellow science and beyond though so I can see the better ways to do stuff

OMG!!! I really found an error in the tech tree description. When you are talking about the machine assembler upgrade, which raises the speed from 0.75 to 1.0, it says 50% faster speed. But it is only 1/3 increase or GIVE ME MY DAMN MISSING 0.125 Crying Smileys
On the other side, I can't imagine doing any calculation with factor 1.125 or could you??? I just calculate cycles per minute as this is easiest for me.
