Soooo… should we skip sails completely and invest into our industry chain? Cuz from what i understand, actualy sphere is an ultimate goal and sails put in sun oribit seems like just waste of resources.
Also i saw some guy who was using sails to actually build the sphere. You just built "walls" but the filling is made by sails… correct?
And permanent solar panels still outperform at every level.
Does the dyson sphere emit energy to the entire galaxy or just the solar system it is in?

Cool, now for the next video i would like to know how to ship the power to other solar systems 😀 I saw some interesting concepts on reddit. Shipping accumulators back and forth and empty them on location.
Instead of building the complete dyson sphere in your home star.
The best practice is to build the dyson sphere in the star with the highest luminosity factor (top left corner of the dyson sphere editor) in your star cluster, generally O category (class) stars are the highest I've encountered with x2.4 times the luminosity factor.
Then use ray receivers (in 8 octant pattern of a sphere for constant output) in a planet (with least orbit and rotation axis inclination) of that star to collect photons (which should be ×2.4 times greater now because of the star you chose) and then ship it back to your home base for anitmater fuel for artificial sun.
What I wanna know is whether or not you can just build your regular structures on the surface of the Dyson sphere, so I can just ship raw materials and basically have the sphere build itself
You can actually populate dyson sphere with solar sails by clicking that "Shell" icon (polygon) and then in the middle of your closed sphere parts. It will create a "surface" planes made of solar sails and dramatically increase the power output. However I am not sure if those will stay permanently, but they are still supplied by rail guns.
Power is the limiting factor in this game……

There one big error in this. Went your building you Dyson sphere and you says this is to select a group of nodes. This is incorrect. You use that button to select between node to tell the sphere to suck your Dyson swarm there and create the solar panel. It takes your swarm and put it permanent.

5:40 So 254/7000 = 36KW of power per sail, and again divided by the factor each collector gets.
The "best" collector you had sitting there was at 80%, so out of those 36KW per sail you only get about ~30KW.
Why would I constantly need to replace a rather advanced/expensive sail when a solar-panel/wind-power mix gives much more power?
THe maths just don't add up to me.
If you really want power. Find tidally locked world solar panel the day side and charge accumulators.
