Dyson Sphere Program | STARTER GUIDE TO MECHANICS & RATIOS | Beginner Guide/Tutorial

DYSON SPHERE PROGRAM
Build the most efficient intergalactic factory in space simulation strategy
game Dyson Sphere Program! Harness the power of stars, collect resources,
plan and design production lines and develop your interstellar factory from
a small space workshop to a galaxy-wide industrial empire.
Like Factorio and Satisfactory combined 🙂

ABOUT THE GAME
Dyson Sphere Program is a sci-fi simulation game with space, adventure,
exploration and factory automation elements where you have to build your
own galactic industrial empire from scratch.
In the distant future, the power of science and technology has ushered a
new age to the human race. Space and time have become irrelevant thanks
to virtual reality. A new kind of supercomputer has been developed – a machine which superior artificial intelligence and computing capability will
push humanity even further. There is only one problem: there isn’t enough
energy in the whole planet to feed this machine.
You are a space engineer in charge of a project launched by the space alliance COSMO, tasked with a massive undertaking: constructing a Dyson
Sphere, a megastructure that would orbit around a star, harnessing all its
power and energy. Only a few decades ago it was considered a hypothetical,
impossible invention – but now it’s in your hands… if you can manage to
develop this space workshop in some galactic backwater into a galaxy-wide
industrial production empire!

ABOUT EARLY ACCESS
While the core mechanics of Dyson Sphere Program are ready, the game still
can grow and evolve a lot – and Early Access is just the perfect place for it to
reach its true potential. We believe that by letting players experience the
main content of Dyson Sphere Program and actively interacting with them
to collect their feedback will allow us to improve the game and make it
much better than it would be without this Early Access stage. Our plans are
for this EA stage to be about 1 year long. But that is not written in stone.

KEY FEATURES
◇ Build a galactic industrial empire from scratch: start with a small workshop and improve it until it spans the whole galaxy
◇ Develop your very own Dyson Sphere, a megastructure that orbits
around a star harnessing all its power and energy, from the first screw
to its completion
◇ Explore a vast universe procedurally generated with all kinds of celestial bodies: neutron stars, white dwarfs, red giants…
◇ Gather resources in planets of all types: ocean, lava, desert, frozen,
gaseous planets…
◇ Research new technologies to improve your factories… and discover
the secrets of the universe
◇ Build mechas to fly, sail or jump through outer space and alien planets
◇ Transport materials across the galaxy to your facilities: thousands of
transport ships will flow endlessly to your factories and back!
◇ Design the most efficient automated factory and production line
◇ Customize your factory and Dyson Sphere to make it unique
◇ Design a balanced power network, producing energy in all kinds of
power plants like wind turbines, artificial stars… through conveyor
belts, and you’ve got technology to help your buildings fit the grid automatically during the construction process. You’ve got the best tools
COSMO can afford to build a massive-scale automated production line
– the most efficient one ever seen in the universe!

  1. I dont really know why you do the ratio math so complicated and take the crafting speed into account or break it down to per second values. It tells you the ouput of both machines in items /minute already. All you have to do is check if input requires more than one item (in which case multiply ouput by that) and then just look for smallest common denominator of input and source production. For example assembelr does 45/min uses 2 iron plate so 90 iron plate per minute required. Smelter does 60/min so 1.5 smelter per assembler or 3 to two. But maybe its just me and the way you said it sounded more complicated to me.

  2. Thanks for this type of video. Too many I’ve seen so far play DSP like Factorio instead of learning/adjusting to the uniqueness of DSP. Please continue these insightful videos that take full account and advantage of what DSP brings to the genre! 🙂

  3. That 0.75 crafting speed became a pain when I started making engines. Before that everything is backing up but when I needed the next tier of EM engines then the basic engine comes up short.

  4. I got this game when it fist came out, since then I have been waiting for you to put something like this out. As always you are great at this. Not only in this game but also Factorio as well.

  5. Excellent to see some good reference designs!… the build thinking seems more similar to Satisfactory with many custom factories (decentralization), then Factorio-like with large generic mass production fed from a common bus (centralization).

  6. Nice, you talk about some good tips in the video production space! We love what you talk about, keep going. Anytime you're in Arizona reach out. If you'd like, DM us @dmakproductions on IG and we can chat. You do really great work.

  8. Your Sorter speed is a bit wrong, otherwise great video! It is 1.5 trips per second, not 1,5 items per second, it seems the same but its sadly not. As you can see at 2:54 in your video, when you put 6items/sec on the belt and the 3 sorters at combined 4,5 trips/sec can empty it without issues.
now comes the sad part: They can empty it, but not fill it 🙁

  9. Awesome video, could u please make another one about creating spheres ? I am alway try to create some but i dont know what to follow to be able set them right. They are always at pitch limit 😀 so it is really trial and error for me. U know maybe there is some tip which can help us better understand how we should create our spheres. So some tips around it or best placement for Em ejectors would be awesome

  10. Thanks for this video, I'm not smart enough to figure out ratios on my own. I usually just build until my belts look right. I wish developers could just make the numbers easy. You know 1 to 2, 1 to 3, etc. Don't do fractional rates, it just is unnecessary in a fictional world.

  11. Hey Nilaus, fed video. Hva er shortcut til at copy recipe på et dansk tastatur? Der står <, men hverken knappen med </> eller piletasterne virker for mig. På forhånd tak!
