  1. Energetic graphite is also a better power source for you mech than coal. Also have you considered researching faster belts and sorters if you haven't yet and using multiple sorters to on input and output

  2. Dear Slip, I started watching you on hermitcraft and followed you then, 8 years ago, then stopped watching when you stopped playing Minecraft, now I realize why I like your stuff. You are really good at explaining how to and why to as you do your vids. I watch you twitch every night, and here when you post. I love your voice and I love your Astroneer and Vaccuum vids, sorry Dyson vids 😃 great to be watching you again homie. A sixty year old man.

  3. You could probably place a building down then pick it up again to get the soil. Save on foundations.

And thanks for bringing this game to my attention. I bought it as soon as I saw your first video. Now all the Youtubers are playing it.

  4. For the soil pile, just use the 1 tile foundation as a "paint brush". It's a lot faster and saves you a bit of time as well. Hold down left mouse and start painting, swiping your mouse left and right.

  5. One lesson I learned from playing factorio might help you: your first factory is going to be a disorganized mess as you scramble to get down the basic necessities to get up and running. Embrace it, and love the spaghetti for what it is. Your first base can be temporary, and should be used to produce all the facilities, belts, sorters, and other components you need to move to a new area and place down a well organized and large scale factory.

Optimization and efficiency are achieved through iteration. You're on iteration 0, and you're doing great.

  6. I just finished up making the red magic squares production and I just want to point out that the speed with which your game moves is about 5x the speed my game produces. I actually have an upgrade that produces faster than you do as well. Your robots that build move 10x as fast as mine do. I have 1 oil refinery per crude oil seep and it is not getting backed up producing the hydrogen and refined oil while you have 6. I must be missing something.

I will say I found 5 to be the amount of smelters per mining machine although the 5th is not making too many often.
