Neuralink just implanted a chip in a monkey’s brain and demonstrated it playing video games with its mind. The science behind that could be a game-changer.

  1. Neuralink knocks out wiseguy. Think about it. A few years go by and people with disabilities can start augmenting their bodies with robotic prosthetics. Before long someone makes a crack about them being a cyborg and the persons impulse it to hit them. Neuralink is reading intentions and translates that to the prosthetics. Who is responsible for the assault?

  2. The end game here is entirely simulated reality. A pod person living out their fantasies as a brain in a vat consumes very little resources. The bonus to the pod person is that they will literally have whatever utopia they can imagine, not to mention at the very least, a digital replicant that can survive indefinitely even if their physical brains might not. Oh, and lest we forget; This is the tool Musk plans to use to allow us a symbiotic connection to advanced artificial general intelligence at a level that will perhaps give us even footing. Perhaps.

  4. "…enables someone with paralysis to use a smartphone with their mind faster than someone using thumbs"

Translation: the "handicapped" are now those without Neuralink.

  5. Me, thinking about my neurons firing, sending messages to other neurons to make me say the words in this video, wondering if Neuralink could've worked out what I wanted to say before I said it: 🤯

  6. Someone better get the current administration out of office before we all have this chip in our head. I’d rather have pager and his buddies take over planet of the apes style before that happens.
