  1. Adding a way to earn crown store items with gameplay is a good thing, i've always thought there should be a way for everyone to get these items without having to toss up real world money or deal with crown black market.

  2. Frankly this is awsome. They are literally taking something (the crown crate items) that are locked behind a paywall (the crates) and making them free for people willing to grind. Its a reason to keep coming back and to keep grinding towards that high cp cap.

  3. I knew this was coming when Microsoft bought Bethesda since they would have to fall in line with Microsoft's policy involving real money items. Glad to see it happen relatively soon. I think it's a huge improvement on where we are since I refuse to buy lootboxes.

  4. Only took them 5 + years to listen to there players advice. But hey. Better late then never.

Edit: this was literally the reason I stopped playing the game. Because I had done and beat everything, and there was no hamster wheel that actually rewarded me for playing the game.

  5. I like the idea of being able to earn mounts through this system. I’m interested in knowing how long it will take to be able to get a mount. I don’t think you should be able to get 1 every week but I also don’t think it should take a year to save up to get 1.

  6. Interesting. I'm not sure how to feel. I've never had a game give me a more polarizing sense of value than ESO. The base game is a really good deal, but I killed my ESO Plus (then went into Craft Bag withdrawal and left the game for a while) over how little I could actually buy with my crowns. I don't expect currency to rain, but it'd be nice if shopping on a Plus-only budget didn't feel like saving up for a wedding ring. I'm curious to see how this plays out.

  7. I hate to be the debbie downer but ALL of everything related to video games is a hamster wheel. In fact, everything related to the internet is a hamster wheel designed from the ground up to addict people into coming back in order to generate massive income for corporations. Our time is traded for their income & time is the most valuable resource in the world since there is no way to create more of it.

  8. This is the best thing they are gonna add because I always hated how they always kept these really cool cosmetics which are arguably better than base crown cosmetics and you have to either be lucky or spend out the booty to get these especially those mounts so I'm really happy they did this

  9. I know having the ability to obtain an apex mount is the biggest feature but I believe ZOS should've excluded apex mounts from the list of rewards. The reason is that it devalues the apex mount. If people are able to obtain apex mounts through in-game activities, they will become more common rather than a super rare reward. The rarity therefore suffers. The whole point of having an apex mount is the rarity, even if you threw a bunch of money at the game you could still not get an apex mount, it's really rare. Additionally, I would've made the endeavor system a members-only feature. I think ZOS is missing out on a huge opportunity, adding the endeavor system as another bonus to membership will give the free players that extra push to become members. But overall, I like the change, but think about my apex argument because devaluing rares is a bad precedent.

  10. I subscribe to ESO+, so for me it's just a nice extra. I expect it might be a great for the pay as you go folks, since they will be able to grind for riding boosts/bank space and other upgrades.

I wonder if this is a precursor to being able to grind for a free month of ESO+?

  11. Can we also appreciate the fact that we can get the apex radiant mounts with this currency? They could have easily done some annoying crap like "The list of available crown crate items are random each week", but they're just letting us have access to it all. For all of this games flaws, ZOS are the best MMO devs in the business and no one can tell me otherwise.

  12. I can speak for myself and my friends: Freaking YES!!! WE HATE random slot machines games use. THIS is much much much better. Super excited and about damn time. Even if we buy books to help increase our mount bars faster or save up to get a great looking skin. This is a great addition for many who seriously can not afford much, but would like some premium pay wall locked virtual goods.

  13. So glad you are back man. Missed your content. I think this is a step forward. They obviously have to make money, but I think instead of another currency they should put radiant mounts under achievements. The casual audience will take much longer to get those items while still rewarding the hard-core fan base. It eliminates the need for currency and still allows people to play how they wish. For example, complete a specific vet trial 100 times = radiant mount.

  14. Such a great addition, I hope they actually give you a decent amount per challenge; but i’d understand if they only gave you 1-3 per challenge because it’s a free currency for things they could be making money on 😜

  15. I think its a waste they most likely waste there time from fixing bugs and we will get very little reward that will make more f2p to subscribe or spend money in crown store

  16. More endless grind and when you grind it out they will bring out a patch that makes everything you grinded out fucking useless!! FUCK THAT SHIT NOT EVERYONE IS ADHD MANCHILD LIVING IN MUMS BASAMENT

  17. This is a big step from how it should have always been. Veterans of the game have probably already spent hundreds of dollars, but for new players (myself included) this is great news. However, I think the best way to get the rarests mounts (or whatever) is from bosses/events rewards; trials, dungeons, etc., or in-game challenges, even maybe as a fragment rewards, like in events. What this means, if I see a player with a super mount, I don't want to say: "that player spent his good dollars to buy it", but, to say: "that player must have spent hundreds of hours trying to get that mount", and that my friends, is one of the best feeling in a videogame, especially in a MMO (in my humble opinion).
