The new Champion system reduces how many passives are on a character at one time, reducing the calculations per combat action.
Expandability is essential to the health of character progression, and the revamped Champion system has far greater flexibility for expansion in the future.
The Constellations have been renamed from the Mage, Warrior and Thief to Warfare, Fitness and Craft.
Constellations have been reduced from 9 to 3, but the variety of stars available to spend points in has greatly increased.
The CP cap per update has been lifted, and you can now spend up to the 3600 point cap. We’ve adjusted the rate at which you gain CP to accommodate for the cap lift.
All characters have had their base Health increased to 16,000, up from 8744 and their Magicka and Stamina have increased to 12,000, up from 7958.
Characters now also take 15% reduced damage at the base, to reduce the loss of the mitigation from the Champion Point system.
Characters now also start with 20 Weapon and Spell Damage at level 1 and gain an additional 20 per level, up to 1000 at level 50.

  1. I stopped playing the game because of the absurdity of the champion point system. Its impossible for someone like me with a busy work schedule to ever max out champion points. Therefore I cannot get into the large raiding guilds or do any of the activities that I really enjoy because the major guilds will not take a player without maxed champion points. I dont have a year to dedicated to grinding this game. Oh well, I guess I wont be going back to this one.

  2. I have played the game on and off since launch, mostly off if truth be known, max level i have gotten to is 33 or something ridiculously low. I don't know why I cannot commit to it. The graphics and horrendous animations really don't work for me, feels clunky and unengaging. Have tried modding it to improve the gfx to some success but…….. so this news has made me care even less now as i liked the old system even though i never got a chance to use it ^^

  3. Yep you definitely do not play pvp much. Plenty of players use Heavy Armor in pvp. Easy defense, have a lot good offensive heavy armor sets and has pretty good substain. Plenty of stamina users use heavy armor.

  4. Not a fan of this new system. It feels horrible to grind point after point and then not get rewarded at all. There needs to be something you get for spending those points, if not well I wont bother with the system for sure. Today system shows you that you get something, even when it kinda lies too you, it does feel nice to see a number increase. I did see there is one node that needs 120 points to get your horse not too use any stamina points. The time you spend to get those 120 points…. and not get rewarded at all for 119 points… have fun with that.

  5. My thought on the new system (not seeing it in person), being that I do all 3 roles, and have a couple builds for each, it seems like a saveable loadout for what's slotted in the new 12 spot bar would be VERY helpful for people like me.

  6. Well, RIP my ability to run veteran trials, I’m probably going to get booted from all my raid guilds. I was at the CP 810 cap, around 1200 or so, after about three years of play, but now I’m going to be at a severe disadvantage and need to gain ~2400 CP just to catch up to the cap again.

I don’t really see how forcing us to grind thousands of extra CP just to get back to the limit really benefits the game. This is going to break up PvP and PvE guilds and cause a ton of players to get booted from prog teams.

CP810 was already a massive achievement to reach and required an immense expenditure of time and effort and dedication to the game. For instance, I beat ALL the available single player quests in the entire game, for all three factions, all DLC, all normal trials, most veteran trails (except for vCR and vMoL), vMA, vDSA, and spent a ton of time in PvP, Cyrodiil, Imperial City, etc. Thousands and thousands of hours. And now my character is demoted to a noob again.

    Wonderful job, ZOS.

  7. Well level cap should finally go up, some comments seem to imply they just want to Remain endgame forever. I for one would like to check it out changes will come, that is inevitable, might as well try it out
