[Eternal Return Black Survival] Eternal Return Is Ripping Off League Of Legends??

Flash? In Eternal Return Black Survival? More likely thank you think. We’re gonna talk about Quantum Blink in Eternal Return Black Survival today. With the latest roadmap news, a controversial new ability was revealed for the game. It looks like Eternal Return is going to get its own version of the summoner spell Flash from League of Legends — and the community seems to be in outrage over this addition. What do you think? Is Quantum Blink / Flash ultimately good for the future of Eternal Return, or not?

  1. in 3 lanes moba, blink/flash has been tested for years even before days of league and dota 2. That said, so many user-created maps had blinks back in wc3 days so I maybe/kinda think it will work here too. Don't know if it will make the game more fun though.

  2. I'm definitely in the 'wait and see' camp, because the flash ability has been in games before league, but why it works so well in league now is that it's been around for so long and has been tested and adjusted and considered for years at this point. I think it's a decent idea going forward, but having it be just be flash is a little boring. I think creating synergies for characters like summs in league or aptitudes in OGBS would be a better use of it but we'll see how it goes.

  3. I love this, as the survivability of some characters seems way off, and I see this fixing that. (I only play squads for reference). For example Ive been playing a lot of Shoichi, and his whole kit is about high mobility IN a fight, and no mobility for getting out of a fight. If I get ganked by any 2 people, I have almost no chance of escaping other than dagger skill, and thats difficult to get early on Shoichi. A flash would give Shoichi a chance to escape (and would obviously add to his kit offensively in the late game)

  4. Its too much, except they
    1. Make the additional skill ( if they add more skill than Quantum Blink ). They at least must make it show if the enemy have it on CD or not.
    2. Its impossible on Solo. Because its won't change anything, Make it even worse, character who can't run will can't run away, character who can run away really easily ( Jackie and Dailin ) can't get catch up either.

  5. All it will do is make immobile characters a bit better and already good mobility character even better. I don't think it's good but it will heavily depend on the range and if it can jump over walls or not.

  6. Personally I'm gonna agree I think this is a bad decision. I only have around 30 hours in the game, however I still having a blink for everyone changes nothing. If everyone gets it, then what's the point? If they are trying to give some characters more mobility I think it would be better to just increase what weapons they can use. For example I personally love Chiara's design, however I missing having a movement ability. I personally think a blink to disengage would be nice on her, however if we both have blinks then there is no point in having it. I would much rather they just gave her a dagger and get the cloak + movement speed to disengage.

  7. Going back to that hyejin example, they could simply nerf the elemental bow and then buff hyejins kit. The ONLY bow you ever use on hyejin is the elemental bow anyways, so nerfing that bow would be the ideal answer to buffing hyejins kit without making bow hyejin that much stronger.

That will be what it all comes down to. When balancing a champion they'll probably look at what weapons have the highest play rate and then nerf those weapons while buffing the champions base damage. Over time this would make most weapons very similar to one-another and things SHOULD become relatively balanced.

Something to note about this method of balancing is that this would go weapon to weapon, not weapon against weapon. This means all bows could eventually become viable, but the bow weapon vs the shuriken weapon might still not be balanced. People would still probably prefer bow hyejin over shuriken hyejin because shuriken doesn't do much for her kit.

When it comes to balancing all weapon types so that they're interchangeable with one-another, that might be a HUGE task, since not all weapon actives are made equally (here's looking at you sniper~) (also sniper passive movement speed debuff I feel should only be active when pressing D, and remove the laying down bullshit)

  8. As someone who has played league for almost 10+ years, I can say that adding a mechanic like flash to this game just doesn't sound like a great idea. Like you said league has worked around flash since day one and is one of those things that you have to balance around to really make it work in the game. In a game with no respawns, a mechanic like flash makes fights in the halfway point either "Do you have flash or not?", and will make end game fights, if both people have it, make for interesting fights, but if one person has it, than depending on how even they are and who the characters are, just a free fight. Another thing this messes with is characters who already have the ability to dash like jackie, nadine, xiu, etc. will make those characters even stronger at just chasing down and bullying characters without a movement ability or a worse one than them. Overall flash in this game seems like a poor addition to just make people who already play league feel more at home, but this game shouldn't strive to be like league when it already has its own identity.

  9. Been playing League way longer than I'd really like to admit and just got into ER:BS, but just weighing in to say the game would be better if flash was removed from the game early in its cycle and its worrying to see it being considered here. Eternal Return should not have a skill like flash, it will completely warp the way the game is played and designed from the moment its added. If its an item you need to invest resources into that replaces your weapon skill I can see a place for it. Dota's Blink Dagger has been a core part of the game for over a decade, this effect can be balanced. But Dota demands you to put gold down for the effect and it can't be used as a panic button. Giving every character a get out of jail free card is a very dangerous path of game design to go down. On the flip side, if a character like Aya, Adarinna, or Isol, burns Quantum Blink early game and they run into a Jackie or Yuki who's still holding theirs, they're dead no questions asked.

Inside of a BR flash can potentially devolve into "Does this player I just ran into that and haven't seen the whole match have this incredibly powerful ability or not?" Because an important distinction between ER:BS and LoL is that in LoL, your teammates can let you know if someone blows flash or not, and for 8-15 minutes of the game your against a single player 1v1 so you're going to known if they burned it attacking or running from you.

  10. Not sure if im too late to add this but adding something like flash from lol would be a massive down for the game imo, from my many hours in league (approx 5k) i would say flash is just a safety net more than anything as it allows you to go for stupid plays and be able to escape easily and this just has become a crutch in the game, one upside that it does add is the outplay opportunity when someone fires a skill shot at you and you flash out the way of it, but the fact it would allow people to mess up horribly and escape relatively unscathed would be bad for the game and i believe it would attribute to lowering the overall skill level of the game as people wouldnt learn their limits and know when and when not to take engagements.
