Spiritual successor to Freelancer. Gonna get in on PS5 when it releases on consoles
Rockfish did an utterly brilliant job with Galaxy on Fire 1 and 2 and, while I enjoyed Everspace on my Xbox, I didn't get on with it due to those pesky roguelike elements. This, however, really has my attention so settling in for the long wait until they port this to Xbox as this looks epic.
No interesting story, no memorable characters, no captivating atmosphere, shallow and generic Rpg looter Shooter mechanics,
and stupid Immersion breaking racing mini games.
This game is a 40 quid early access cashgrab. No comparison to the legendary Freelancer.
This doesn't even deserve to be mentioned with Freelancer in the same sentence.
I'm kind of bummed they ditched the rogue-lite elements tbh, I was really looking forward to seeing what new things they would add.
I really enjoyed the first one so yeah, hopefully this is as good as it sounds.
Its games like this that make me wish I ran a PC instead of console.
I played the first one for a bit and then returned it on Steam. Felt it was a good game but my computer at the time couldn't really handle it. Anyway, I had my eye on this one for a while. I'm waiting with bated breath until it comes out of Early Access!

there are no explosions in space. instead they could make some kind of hitmarker or something so you know when you killed another spaceship
