  1. I think one statement/question Larry could've asked was, when RPGmaker was a thing, did anyone start making their own rpg actually finish what they started. I for one have not.

  2. In the industry of development and acquisition, there's (should be) a close relationship between engineers and program managers. Left unchecked, engineers tend to keep engineering, adding more and more, complicating whats already been added, requiring changes to facilitate additions, requiring more changes, on and on it goes. Often called feature creep.

This can create the feeling of doing allot of work and being further behind than before. PROGRAM MANGERS are supposed to mitigate this (as much as possible). For simplicity's sake, they're supposed to corrale and herd the engineers, to make sure the overall product has cohesive focus and a realistic time table of completion.

Of course, that's how is SUPPOSED to work but it often doesn't because, people and reality. Development be hard.

  3. Game never finished. It just hit the deadline and got released. Good game are just hit the sweet spot. Otherwise release it too early and you got FFXIV 1.0 where there're a lot to improve but people wouldn't looking forward to it, Or releasing too late you'd get FFXV where no matter how good it sells, It doesn't match the resource and time it takes. And even harder to meet people expectations as many things got made and scrap along the way.
