  1. I would say in WoW that server choice does slightly affect leveling depending on Horde vs Alliance balance. Warmode affects how fast you can level. I play alliance on a horde dominated server and therefore receive a 25% warmode buff. Horde on the same server only receive a 10% warmode buff.

Due to shards and sister servers, it is hard to find which servers are horde or alliance majority. It is almost generally accepted now that a majority of the player base is Horde.

FFXIV has the much better customizations but I'm proud of WoW in significantly upgrading the options. One day they should let us choose our race dances instead of baking them into the class.

  2. I don't know much about Final Fantasy but the customization isn't permanent in the character select screen anymore in WoW. You can even change your gender in the barbershop now. So you can change your hair, tattoos, jewelry, gender, eye color to match your transmog anytime you feel like making changes.
Druids have a significant amount of options because you can choose your travel forms, feral forms, bear forms, and etc.

  3. "For RP, since Black Mages use destruction magic, they tend to pick Rhalgr due to being the god of destruction"

Up until they realize that Rhalgr is actually the patron deity of the Ala Mhigan Monks. Which is an easy mistake to make given the description and Rhalgr's symbol being a meteor (which is literally BLM's LB3).

To my knowledge the old Black Mages of Mhach didn't really worship any deity, but in current times it seems the Black Mages that start your job quests post-Thaumaturge progression are more in line with Nald'thal, the god of commerce and of the underworld.
Which given the correlation between the Void and dark arts like Necromancy and ritualistic Blood Magic, it does make some sense given Black Mages in-lore are very involved with using blood to tear open or close portals to the Void, despite their more gameplay inclined use of destructive Elemental Magic (although Foul and Xenoglossy are now blurring that line).

  4. Allied races still start at a higher level, but now it's just level 10 rather than 20 because the level squish. The hero classes (Death Knight and Demon Hunter) also still start at levels higher than 1, but only slightly higher now (level 8 instead of 55 resp. 98).

  5. Naturally the FFXIV customization is ages ahead. WoW need sliders to proper improve, but the current changes made wonders for the very thin customization WoW used to have. It's good to see diversity in the characters, which oddly enough, ain't a thing I saw at FFXIV. Somehow every character look the same even when they go bonkers with the customizations. I think it's player fault on that case for picking lots of similar stuff. Lul

  6. This is a separate question from your video. I just wonder about your opinion. Recently my friends were wondering why wasn't Blizzard working on a Warcraft universe for possible movies or NetFlix series. Final Fantasy comes from a background of full feature movie events. Do you think the Final Fantasy community could benefit from a full feature event related to XIV? It could give a boost to content creators and bring more people over to the franchise.
    What do you think?

  7. As a non-WoW player looking in from the outside without any preconceived notions of what the Undead should look like, the "clean" skin looks their most appealing option to me, because it's the least ugly one.

  8. Your race and clan and birthday used to effect your elemental resistances and base stats at level 1
Each clan would either have slightly higher str, dex, and endurance
    Or Int, Mnd or Charisma
The elemental resistances were never really used, so they were just a waste of space on the character screen
They also used to have assignable stat points that totalled 30 at level 50 and 35 at 60, but everyone just assigned them to the jobs main stat, it was a problem for scholar and summoner, because they shared the same stats, but scholar needed mind for healing while summoner needed int, and to respect required spending grand company seals or allied seals on an item to reset them
Stormblood removed them because 35 points was inconsequential compared to the stats from gear, and there isn't really much point to customisation when its a choice between optimisation or deliberately nerfing yourself
