So, I made the decision to play the games I do covers for, only because I realized after doing my Hopes and Dreams cover and THEN beating Pacifist Undertale for the first time that I completely missed the mood of the song. I hadn’t been to the portion of the game where it plays, so how could I find the mood? With a few notable exceptions, this is always the case. So, when I planned to do a cover of Field of Hopes and Dreams from DELTARUNE, I held off on making an arrangement because I KNEW I’d butcher it if I didn’t play it first. And, obviously, since this cover exists, I have played DELTARUNE! And I loved it! It has all the quirk and charm of Undertale in a new and interesting way. This song may very well be my favourite in the soundtrack. It’s just got such a nice groove, and nice harmony, and is really fun to play.

If this video looks a little choppy, in many ways, it’s on purpose. I’m filming all the medleys at 24 frames per second (which is basically Hollywood framerates. I think it looks nice), but this was the first video I did experimenting with it. I’ve made the decision to film all the medleys at 24 and shoot all the rest of my videos at 30. I think 24 lends itself better to videos with proper camera movement, rather than still cameras. So, the look is intentional, but for all the videos that are shot in my studio from here on, this will be the ONLY video to look like this.

Mixing wise, I think this may be one of my best mixes for this year at the moment. I actually used this song as a testing exercise for mixing, and I’ve managed to make things start to fit together. The bass makes it through, the rhythms are audible and not ear piercing, the leads sit well, the drums sit pretty well. All other sounds also fit pretty well. It just all sounds REALLY good to me, and I hope y’all like this sound. We’re about at the point where I finally figured out my new equipment, so I’m very excited to see what happens for the rest of the year!
