UPDATE: A correction on Xbox Series S: this version runs at a native 1080p, contrary to the description at 2:21 in the video. Apologies for any confusion – tests of Series S show in-engine gameplay appears to render at a capped 1920×1080 right now, while other next-gen versions run at a native 4K. We will update if any form of 4K support is added down the line.

One of the most remarkable series upgrades in recent years – FIFA 21 showcases Frostbite engine’s Strand Hair Technology. Hair on select players is vastly upgraded, adding physics on each hair strand to give life-like results. Tom and Alex comb through the PS5 and Series X versions, comparing it to FIFA 21’s appearance on last-gen machines.

  2. I bet ea sports wish that all the footballers have buzzcuts.
I'm probably a bigger football fan than the majority of fifa football players but I can never play football games. No matter how realistic the game has become (which is only minor for each new release) I cannot play these football games as they'll never have realistic a.i. if you shoot at goal, the computer can decide if the goalie is to save it or not, it's almost like flipping a coin if you score. Ea could ramp up the difficulty so much that the opposing goalie saves every single shot. When you shoot what is it that says you hit the target or not. You're not in control of the players feet to hit the ball clearly. Again this is a decision in the program. Then the player ratings. There's no way a player with shooting score of 96 is any different than a player with 91. Doesn't make sense and how would it implement this within gameplay. Its more likely that there's a 5 point system or maybe a little more? And player's who are in between 90 and 100 shooting ability, all fit in the same level day at level 5. Players within 80-89 are 4 level shooting ability and so on. Ea probably only add so much detail to the players scores to add depth to gameplay and for the gamer to think there's a difference. Nope not a fan at all of these sports games
