  1. Sorry guys, I done goofed on the BFR. It is of course available in. 45-70, which was why I picked that brass beast in the first place. At some point my brain decided to let me down 🙂

  2. It would be nice, to see Mr Fergusons comments on the self-made "Pipe"-guns of Fallout 4. While they naturally do not have exact real world counterparts on account of being improvised, similar – more or less badly crafted – things do exist and are an interesting subject.
PS. Fo4 also has a number of other "curious" (lets call them that) weaponry choices.

  3. In a Q&A, Josh Sawyer got the question:
"Was there a specific reason for the AMR being a PGM Hécate considering it's such a rare rifle compared to other AMRs like the M82?"
    His answer?
"'Cause it looks sick as fuck."
Can't argue with that logic 😀

  4. Could you ask Jonathan to have a look at a VR game called Into the Radius? I think he would be impressed with the detail the devs have managed to get with the weapons, and pleased that shotguns actually have a respectable range 🙂

  5. The Laser RCW for those unaware, has a rotating capacitator (or whatever its called) where it spins really fast inside of the gun, so it has a violent recoil there.
But I assume laser weapons have mechanical parts moving around to cause recoil.

  6. Could have mentioned the silly reload on the LMG, how ridiculously quiet the silenced 10mm auto pistol is, that the "Blade Runner gun" being chambered in 5.56 is silly (given that the short barrel will drastically reduce its ballistic effectiveness) or that the gauss rifle's ammo is clearly sourced from the right-hand box magazine (the charge pack the character reloads is good for one shot, whereas the magazine we never see reloaded).

    Other than that, not bad.

  7. The .223 pistol was first in fallout one as a unique quest reward I believe. Played 1 finally and finished it; really recommend it to fallout fans! Great atmosphere and so on, less immediately engaging than an fps but especially if you get a guide with some good tips its great fun.
As for the China Lake, I believe like a shotgun you would load a round and then chamber it before filling the rest of the tube; and supposedly that is what the few SEALS that used it in Vietnam would do.

    Great vid, thanks

  8. In regards to plasma weaponry, the version seen in fallout NV is actually a second generation weapon that replaced the original Winchester Plasma caster, which also appears in the game, and Winchester P94, which looks much more professional but was also kind of a wet noodle, since it was just a plasma caster with vastly reduced power supply and made into a rifle. It was largely experimental but it was so much lighter and frankly, better, than the Winchester PC that the military phased the old one out and adopted this. After the war (or just before) Enclave scientists took that weapon and looked to downsize it, and eventually created the Plasma Pistol, which is used as a sidearm and primary weapon of Enclave Officers. There's also another version of plasma weaponry that shows up in NV, the Plasma Defender, which is actually known as the Glock 86 in older games and was produced pre war. Obsidian probably didn't call it the Glock 86 in NV due to licensing problems.
